District Newsletter February 2018

January 29, 2018 notes by Erik Aanestad

President Scott had warm words for our fellow Rotarian,

Dick Panzika, who passed away recently. Dick’s memorial

was held on January 26th

, was well attended by Rotary

members, and a wonderful tribute to a great and honor-

able man who lived an amazing life. He will surely be

missed by all of us at Rotary.

Scott reminded us to complete and

turn in our volunteer hour forms.

He announced club birthdays and

club anniversaries. Congratulations

to Chuck & Carol Elizondo on 60

years of marriage!

Perfect attendance was given to

Chris Parks.

Paul Harris awards were given

to Jon Peek, Blake Smith, Dave

Peeler, Tim McCall.

The “Service above Self” Award of

the month for club recognition was

given to Judy Bagley and Anita Dan-

iels.

Erik Aanestad

was the craft

speaker, and

spoke about

growing up in Ne-

vada County, his

wife and family, and his estate planning

law firm, Aanestad Law – as well as the

importance of being involved with Rotary. It was a great

talk! (can I say that?)

Terry Ann Ferguson was the lucky raffle winner.

The meeting was concluded with the four way test.
