Guide for submitting master’s theses to the library How to register your thesis in UiS Brage -

Faculty of social science

All master's theses – even those which won’t be made publicly available - MUST be submitted to the library via the BIBSYS Brage database. Brage is the university's open archive, and from 2009 master's theses are only available through this database. We publish theses graded A-C.

The thesis needs to be in PDF format. You should only upload one file, with the formalized front page and appendices, but can be a maximum of two files if the appendices are large, or if only a part of your thesis is confidential.

The name of the file should be the student’s name in this format: "lastname_firstname", no spaces or special characters : e.g.: Smith_Donald.pdf.

If you have any difficulties converting your word file to pdf, or in combining more files, you can come to the library for assistance. We will also help if you have any pages that need scanning.

The PDF file you enter in Brage must be exactly the same as the printed version/the version submitted to Inspera.

Some fields are mandatory and some should be skipped, so pay attention to the following screenshots, it will make it easier for you!

You can start the registration and save it if you wish to complete the process later. Click on “Save & Exit” and “Save it, I’ll work on it later”. You'll find your registration under "Unfinished Submissions" when you log on again. Click “Resume” to complete.
