    June 2013

BeckerismsThe Supreme Court has ruled that so-called "gay married couples" should receive

federal benefits and allowed so-called "gay marriages" to resume in California. Could

there be any real doubt in anyone's mind that polygamy will become a reality in this

country and sooner rather than later? If you consider the arguments in favor of so-called

"gay marriage," the identical arguments could be applied to polygamy. Once marriage

becomes redefined to include anything and everything, it will mean nothing.

    Ohio House of Representatives

I sponsored three bills during June:

HB 188 eliminates the Ohio Marriage Penalty.

HB 191 corrects the definition of a machine gun.

HB 210 prohibits law enforcement from destroying firearms and requires that they be

2014 over FY 2013 actuals. That is almost a ten percent increase. An additional $1

billion was appropriated for FY 2015. Furthermore, I'm troubled by tax increases of any

kind. Although they are more than offset by tax cuts, I would have preferred to see no

tax increases and spending at the inflation rate. We are WAY beyond that.
