Methods/procedure (10 points) In a normal experiment you would describe in detail every step of the experiment so anyone

looking at your notes would be able to repeat it.

For this lab you will Briefly explain what was done at each station! This should end up being about 1-2 good paragraphs.

Example – At the chemistry lab stations we tested for the presence of proteins, mono-saccharides and starches using the following substances and an indicator solution. (egg white, water, soda, starch, and glucose). We also tested the pH of water, lemon, vinegar, apple cider, baking soda and soda.

There was a station were we labeled the microscope and viewed tissue slides at 3 magnifications. We also stained cheek cells, sketched results and compared other tissue slides.

Answer to number 5 & 6 on molecules and bonding Covalent bond The sharing of the electrons in the H-Cl

bond is not even. This is due to the high electronegativity of Chlorine, which results in the Chlorine nucleus pulling the electrons in that pair closer to it than does the Hydrogen atom. In fact, the electrons from that bond spend virtually no time around the Hydrogen nucleus.

This means that the Hydrogen nucleus, which is just a single proton, is very loosely held to the Chlorine atom. As soon as the HCl molecule encounters any other atom or ion that has even a slight tendency to pull positively charged particles (such as protons) towards it, the proton will detach and so the HCl molecule will break up into a free proton (+ charge) and a negatively charged Chloride ion:
