Sunday 14th July 19 - Aborted Summer Outing

Sunday 15th June 19 - Cake Stall at Wick Hall

Sunday 2nd June 19 - DVD/CD Crafts

As you are aware we did not go on our Summer Outing this year. Unfortunately the coach did not turn up on time. I tried to find out the problem but no one answered the emergency telephone. We waited until 11am and then decided to cancel the trip altogether. Some mem-bers went home but a few of us went to Harbour Park and had a Picnic by the Oyster Pond and then a drink in the café. The coach went by us at 11.15am but by then it was too late to go. Apparently the bus driver got lost. The company manager was very apologetic and offered us a cheaper rate for next year and also presented us with a large Birtday/Thankyou cake to celebrate 4 birthdays and to thank our Volunteers for their tireless dedication to the group. It was delivered the day before the AGM.

Sunday 28th July 19 - AGM Meeting

The AGM went well again. We welcomed our new Treasurer Mrs Janis White who took over from Simon who had been our Treasurer for 9 Years. Thank you certificates were presented to our dedicated volunteers and afterwards we set up for a small party to celebrate the birthdays of 4 of our members and to thank our volunteers. Many thanks for those who helped out with the catering. The cake we received from Compas was excellent ( see above photo). There was plenty to go around and it tasted fantastic.

Our Chair Terry receiving the cheque for £1000 from, Mrs. Jenni Ripley, President of Littlehampton Rotary Club, Mr. Geoffrey Watts, Chairman of the Community Service Committee and Press Officer of Littlehampton Rotary Club. We let them know that we are extremely grateful for this donation and also passed on our thanks to the rest of the members of the Rotary Club for all their hard work and efforts in raising this money in the first place.

That concludes my report.

Derek Moore MBE Project Leader.

The race night was a huge success. We held 8 races, had a Ploughman's supper, held a raffle for many prizes. Many thanks to Wendy Squires, Ryan, Josie and Danielle for run-ning the event which helped us raise £520 after expenses. Many thanks to Pam for making up the flower arrangements, to Mary for making up the fruit hampers and to everyone else who donated raffle prizes. Finally to all who attended the evening, many thanks for participating.

As you can see below, people really enjoyed themselves, especially those who won the races. Maureen was extremely happy as she also won a cash prize of £12. She generously donated £5 of her winnings back the group.
