In my state, we don’t have a coastline and we don’t have polar bears, so why should we care about sustainability & livability?

I am not the expert, but am the conduit/facilitator of this information.
We always walk the fine line between involving the public and influencing the public.
We must turn away from the assumption that this is “their” (the Government, Environmentalists, etc.) idea or desire & face the assumption that this is “our” (the community) idea or desire.
Imagine an elephant and its rider in the midst of a tangled jungle. Something has to change; a direction must be established & a path cleared.
...the challenge is to blend a rational case directed toward the mind (the rider) into an experience that is very much aimed at the heart (the elephant).

To create a more livable/sustainable community, what transportation related behaviors need to be changed?
Find the “Bright Spots”.What are the instances in which you have been involved when transportation supported a livable/sustainable community?
“Shrink the Change”‐Small Acts = Big ChangeWhat small acts could lead to bigger changes in behaviors in leadership to support livability/sustainability?
“Shape the Path by Tweaking the Environment”What adjustments to the environment have you seen that created behavioral changes in favor of livability/sustainability?
I have all my life been considering distant effects and always sacrificing immediate success and applause to that of the future.
