Dear City of Praise Family,

“What is man, that you are mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:4) You are God’s awesome and wonderful creation. You are special, unique, one-of-a-kind, designed by a loving God for a purpose that is assigned to you and only you. God took the time to mold you in your mother’s womb, and gave you special talents and abilities, with a personality that would enable you to be used by Him to His Divine Glory. In His wisdom he put all of the pieces together that make you who you are. He gave you a heart that He can soften and fix when the enemy tries to harden it with life’s circumstances. He gave you a sound mind and a measure of faith that can actually move mountains. Whenever you begin to doubt yourself, think poorly of yourself, or try to measure your worth against that of another, think on these things. Remember who you are and Whose you are. You belong to the Most High God. You are the apple of His eye, and He loves you with all of His heart. You are His masterpiece. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14)

Giants are the enemy’s weapons of warfare designed to keep us out of our promised lands. They either work to

intimidate us, which causes fear paralysis, or seduce us, which traps us. Both are constantly thrown at us. At the conclusion of every life we will be known for the giants we slew or the giants which slew us.

There are things that have presented themselves in our lives—things that the enemy wants to make loom large. Maybe it is the giant of a hurtful past, things that others have done to us, or maybe it is a financial dilemma. When you serve God, you are serving a God that can defeat your circumstances. Whenever it is time for elevation, the enemy will present something in your life that will try to stop you. The enemy is afraid of you excelling the way that God wants you to. Is there something blocking your next blessing—a giant that is standing in your way, impeding your progress? God is going to slay that giant.

There are many types of giants that stand in the way of our progress and our blessings:

Be encouraged. Whenever there is a giant, you can guarantee there is a gigantic breakthrough directly behind it. Don’t think it strange that some of us are facing significant obstacles now. The obstacle is a revelation. The revelation is that there is something incredible that God is trying to bring to your life and the devil is so disturbed by it that he is trying to block it. The devil is trying to distract you. This is really God trying to show off, no matter what the enemy brings, God has something better. The enemy wants you to focus on the giant and not the blessing that comes after the giant. NodevilinhellhasthecapacitytostopwhatGodhas in store for you. Decree and declare that thing that God spoke is going to happen.

We used to think that whenever there is a weakness in life, that weakness was holding us back. But God sees the weakness as a door that He is trying to open. According to God, he uses our weaknesses as areas to bless us. The area that you are weak in is the area that He is trying to build in your life. Wherever you are facing an obstacle, God wants you to run to the obstacle because in that area you are going to see God work like never before.
