PRESS RELEASE To be released Tuesday 26 th May 2009 Charity rock show in aid of children’s hospital A group of university students have united to organise a rock show on Thursday 28 th May at The Sound Bar in order to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Six Media and Communication students from Birmingham City University have used their shared interest in music and live shows to form a record label, which they have named “Trapped Star Records”. Each member of the company have an assigned role from Director to Online Manager, however they have all participated in scouting for bands and have each contributed an act for the live gig, which will showcase 6 unsigned bands from in and around Birmingham. Headlining the gig will be a band from Northamptonshire called MyOnlyChance who have been performing for over two years. Rob from MyOnlyChance said “We can’t wait for the show, it will be a brilliant night and we’re playing with some really talented bands, but most importantly it will be a great help to the children at the hospital.” The money will be used by the charity to ensure that the children are in the most comfortable environment possible whilst they are recovering, and to build a new kidney unit for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The other bands performing are A Room For Two, ComicBookHero, Damascus, Something To Write About, and Everett. The show will take place from 7pm‐ 11pm on Thursday 28 th May. Tickets will cost £5 and are available from The Sound Bar, Corporation Street. All profits will be donated to The Children’s Hospital. ### For more information or to arrange an interview, please contact Laura McNally on 07773 306289 or email [email protected].
