PRESSRELEASETobereleasedTuesday26thMay2009Charityrockshowinaidofchildren’shospitalAgroupofuniversitystudentshaveunitedtoorganisearockshowonThursday28thMayatTheSoundBarinordertoraisemoneyforBirminghamChildren’sHospital.SixMediaandCommunicationstudentsfromBirminghamCityUniversityhaveusedtheirsharedinterestinmusicandliveshowstoformarecordlabel,whichtheyhavenamed“TrappedStarRecords”.EachmemberofthecompanyhaveanassignedrolefromDirectortoOnlineManager,howevertheyhaveallparticipatedinscoutingforbandsandhaveeachcontributedanactforthelivegig,whichwillshowcase6unsignedbandsfrominandaroundBirmingham.HeadliningthegigwillbeabandfromNorthamptonshirecalledMyOnlyChancewhohavebeenperformingforovertwoyears.RobfromMyOnlyChancesaid“Wecan’twaitfortheshow,itwillbeabrilliantnightandwe’replayingwithsomereallytalentedbands,butmostimportantlyitwillbeagreathelptothechildrenatthehospital.”Themoneywillbeusedbythecharitytoensurethatthechildrenareinthemostcomfortableenvironmentpossiblewhilsttheyarerecovering,andtobuildanewkidneyunitfortheBirminghamChildren’sHospital.TheotherbandsperformingareARoomForTwo,ComicBookHero,Damascus,SomethingToWriteAbout,andEverett.Theshowwilltakeplacefrom7pm‐11pmonThursday28thMay.Ticketswillcost£5andareavailablefromTheSoundBar,CorporationStreet.AllprofitswillbedonatedtoTheChildren’sHospital.
