Reporting period: 19 June – 13 November 2018

1. Introduction

I was very pleased to join the team at Trawsfynydd in October as the new Closure Director. The last

few months have been very enjoyable in getting to know everyone on site and meeting some of our

key stakeholders. I have been looking forward to today and having the opportunity to meet you.

My previous Magnox role was Waste Operations Programme Manager, based at the Oldbury

Technical Centre. I had the opportunity to work with and visit all of the Magnox sites in that role,

including Trawsfynydd.

Prior to coming to Magnox, I’ve spent the rest of my 37 year career at nuclear facilities in the United

States in South Carolina, New York, Washington, Kentucky, and Idaho. This included sites

undergoing decommissioning.

I’m enjoying living and working in North Wales and working with Trawsfynydd’s highly skilled

workforce to continue delivering our mission safely and efficiently, progressing the site towards

readiness for long term Care and Maintenance.

2. Safety Overview

We continue to have positive news about our safety performance. The headline figures of Total

Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Day Away Case Rate (DACR) remain at Zero, indicating we

have had no serious injuries for over two years. Experience has taught us that vigilance and

encouragement are key to sustaining a safe working environment. With this in mind, “Target Zero”

remains an important element of site life. The monthly campaigns continue to support delivering the

‘Target Zero’ approach to safety, health & wellbeing. Since the last SSG, the following safety-topics

have been actively promoted: Radiological standards, Waste Management, Chemical safety,

Display Screen Equipment Use & Posture at Work and Quality Assurance.

One highlight since the last report was the Mobile Plant Safety Day. This event was organised by

the site safety team working with our site contracting partners, including Interserve. The objective

was to raise awareness of the dangers posed by mobile plant used on site and the difficulties faced

by the operators of such vehicles. 135 people visited the displays to learn about the importance of

approaching crossings thoughtfully, the blind-spots that lie around the various machines, the

obstructed view plant operators work with and the technology available to help avoid a collision. The

event was professionally filmed and a teaching video is being produced for use in future at

Trawsfynydd and other sites.

Another notable event was the third First Aid Awareness Day held on 6 November to promote first

aid on site hosted by the Health, Environment, Safety Advisory Committee. Each of the three

awareness days covered bleeding, broken bones, burns, head injury, CPR, recovery and how to

use an Automated External Defibrillator. The days were available to all site personnel. Positive

feedback was received from each session. The event also prompted interest in qualification as first

aiders for site.

Reporting of events using the Q-Pulse web portal has been successful. All involved have adapted to

the new process. While monitoring for trends continues, no significant groupings of events have

been identified in recent reviews.

The site continues in its commitment to be a safe and healthy place of work, vigilant in its pursuit of

Target Zero.

2.1 Quality Assurance (QA) and Oversight

The state of Quality Assurance at Trawsfynydd continues to improve. QA Engineers are now

embedded within project areas. This has raised the profile of the discipline on site. This is reflected

in the 2018/19 Company Audit Inspection & Review Audit Programme running to schedule and

iterative improvements being made as we adapt towards process based auditing. The central

coordination and collation of results also enables company-wide trends to be identified,

strengthening the response at each site. The site’s Assurance Matrix also continues to mature as it

records the broad range of assurance activities undertaken at site. This brings the information

gathered into one arena so that site trends are easier to identify, allowing improvements to be made

locally. This initiative is being assessed for use on all sites.

Rationalisation of site documentation continues to progress and the company Process Documents

are being implemented. The drive to minimise overdue documents has made good inroads. A

relatively small number remain to be reviewed. The site’s document archive is subject to

rationalisation, in readiness for final archiving off-site. This is labour intensive but is progressing

through good support from all departments. The benefit is that only material that should be kept

long-term goes into deep archive.

3. Decommissioning Progress

3.1 Plant and Structures programme

Brokk scabbling operations have completed within the Ponds lanes at Trawsfynydd. A successful

operation to export all three Brokk scabbling machines off site to another nuclear facility for

continued use has been completed. This avoided having to de-plant the Brokks and also the

associated waste disposal costs noting that the equipment was radiologically contaminated.

The Work Pack 1 Ponds De-plant and Demolition project has progressed well in the past few

months where most notably the Resin Solidification Plant (RSP) pipebridge was de-planted. The

radiologically contaminated resin transfer lines were successfully de-planted utilising a glove bag

technique, which was a new approach for the site and very successful in reducing overall durations

and minimising the requirement to operate in C3 conditions. Following de-planting of the active

components and removal of the external cladding, the main steel structure was removed utilising a

large 200t mobile crane and lowering the bridge in three sections, with the final section size reduced

in–situ given its location abutting the RSP building.

The non-active laundry and caustic tank room have been de-planted and significant progress has

also been made to remove redundant equipment from the former active laundry that used to launder

contaminated Personal Protection Equipment. The project team is currently busy engineering the

isolation of the Active Effluent Treatment Plant to enable the associated plant to be de-planted over

the coming months.

3.2 North Fuel Element Debris (NFED) Plant

FED retrievals from the North vault have continued throughout the year. Performance has been

mixed during the reporting period, with intervals where retrieval rates exceeded baseline

assumptions mixed with outage periods caused by plant issues. The plant issues were in difficult to

access areas, predominantly associated with the waste transfer system, and resulted in significant

downtime to address. Increasing plant reliability remains an area of site focus. A total of fifteen

boxes have been filled from four vault cells, circa 15 tonnes of intermediate level waste (ILW) has

been processed and entry into the fifth cell is imminent.

The Waste Programme Chief Engineer has carried out an ‘Operations Readiness Review’ following

which the FEDER project and the Waste Operations Team are addressing actions to facilitate the

formal handover of the plant to the Waste Operations Team.

3.3 South Fuel Element Debris (SFED) Plant

Following the successful completion of the SFED Setting to Work (STW) phase in August 2018, the

project has progressed through into the Non Active Commissioning (NAC) phase. To date, the team

have completed NAC within the Retrieval Area and are currently nearing completion within the

Process Area, following which the team will focus on preparing for the formal transition from NAC

into the Active Commissioning (AC) phase.

3.4 Waste Operations

The site has produced 313 tonnes of non-radioactive waste so far this financial year, of which 79%

was recycled (82% recycled if hazardous waste is excluded from the totals).

A new analytical system for the assay of low level waste drums and packages has been procured and is currently being commissioned. This will allow a more efficient process for the processing of packages and preparation of consignments as well as a longer term cost saving. Legacy radioactive low level waste processing – Proceeding to plan with 67m3 consigned from site this financial year to date plus an additional 25m3 of equipment and tooling has been diverted from recycling (the Brokks mentioned in section 3.1) for re-use at another nuclear site in the UK.

3.4.1 Waste Milestones

Main Sludge Vault (MSV) and Transportable Intermediate Level Waste Solidification Plant

(TILWSP) - 40 packages of bulk sludge have been retrieved and encapsulated. The tank is

currently in the Post Operational Clean Out (POCO) phase which is expected to give rise to an

additional five packages of waste. POCO has included the deployment of novel tooling to remove

contamination from the tank’s internals. Removal of this contamination has proven difficult and has

resulted in this phase of work taking longer than estimated in the last SSG report. The work is due

to complete by the end of this financial year.

Waste Requiring Additional Treatment (WRAT)

A new modular glass reinforced plastic structure has been installed in the Active Waste Vaults and

is currently undergoing commissioning. This will enable the processing of ILW waste streams via the

drum roller located within the facility.

4. People

The Welsh Regional Site Joint Council is now established.

The Magnox Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Programme continues to be promoted through

the EDI calendar available to all via the Magnox Intranet.

As well as appointed Mental Health First Aiders, training was rolled out on Mental Health for Line

Managers.

The current workforce totals 208, comprising of 136 Magnox employees, 57 Agency Supplied

Workers and 15 Contract Supplied Workers.

5. Environmental Safety

5.1 Environmental Events

In early 2017, the site investigated a trend of reliability issues with gaseous stack sampling pumps.

The report identified several causes that enabled a substandard sampling pump to be used for

gaseous discharge monitoring and missed opportunities to identify this sooner. The Regulator,

Natural Resources Wales, was closely informed of the findings and corrective actions. In July 2018

the Regulator issued a compliance assessment report identifying four permit condition breaches.

None of the breaches caused an environmental impact. Two recommendations were made in the

report and are being tracked to avoid similar future non-compliance.

5.2 Environmental Discharges

During this last period the site has maintained discharges to the environment at very low levels,

significantly below the annual permitted limits. Even though a significant amount of work has been

undertaken in radiological controlled areas, all the protection controls have continued to be effective

with the doses incurred by personnel continuing to be at very low levels.

All radiological discharge data is based on the 1st three quarters of 2018:

Gaseous Particulate 0.381 Megabecquerel (MBq) [0.76% of annual limit]

Gaseous Tritium 29.46 Gigabecquerel (GBq) [7.85% of annual limit]

Effluent Tritium 0.43 GBq [0.14% of annual limit]

Effluent Caesium 137 0.17 GBq [1.13% of annual limit]

Effluent others 0.35 GBq [1.17% of annual limit]

6.0 Radiological Safety

All doses are as forecasted while applying as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) working

practices.

Total cumulative site dose January until end of October = 48.8 man milliSieverts (mSv)

[site total at the same time in 2017 was 48.3 man mSv, with year-end dose being 62.7 man mSv]

Maximum individual worker dose this year, up to end of October = 1.8 mSv

[annual legal limit is 20mSv, annual UK average from background radiation is 2.5 -3.0 mSv]

7. Emergency Arrangements

Thirteen months post ‘Off Shift Transition’ our emergency arrangements are well embedded into

procedure and operational practices. The security team are now thoroughly proficient in terms of

silent hours arrangements.

Duty Managers and Controllers, Lead Guards, Deputy Lead Guards have received Critical Incident

Management training. The training of a new Duty Controller is almost complete and will be

operationally ‘Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel’ before the end of the year.

The demonstration safety exercise held on 27 June was well received and deemed adequate by the

Regulators. Assessor feedback was positive. Local exercises are conducted on an ongoing basis to

improve knowledge and skills and to demonstrate them.

The site safety demonstration exercise is planned to be held in either April or May 2019. The site

security exercise scheduled for Wednesday 27 March 2019 is in the advanced stages of planning

with the scenario finalised and documentation prepared for submission to the Regulators.

8. Site Visits and Key Dates

The site was very proud to be chosen as the venue for the UK

Government to launch the new £220m Nuclear Sector Deal on 28

June. Business and Energy Secretary Greg Clark, Welsh Secretary

Alun Cairns, Business and Energy Minister Richard Harrington MP

and International Trade Secretary Dr

Liam Fox MP took a tour of the site,

Cyfnod Adrodd: 19 Mehefin – 13 Tachwedd 2018

1. Cyflwyniad

Roeddwn yn falch iawn o ymuno â’r tîm yn Nhrawsfynydd ym mis Hydref fel y Cyfarwyddwr Cau newydd. Mae’r ychydig fisoedd diwethaf wedi bod yn bleserus iawn wrth ddod i adnabod pawb ar y safle a chwrdd â rhai o'n rhanddeiliaid allweddol. Rwyf wedi bod yn edrych ymlaen at heddiw a chael y cyfle i gwrdd â chi. Fy rôl flaenorol gyda Magnox oedd fel Rheolwr Rhaglen Gweithrediadau Gwastraff, yng Nghanolfan Dechnegol Oldbury. Cefais y cyfle i weithio ac ymweld â phob safle Magnox yn y rôl honno, gan gynnwys Trawsfynydd. Cyn dod i Magnox, rwyf wedi treulio gweddill fy ngyrfa 37 mlynedd mewn cyfleusterau niwclear yn yr Unol Daleithiau yn Ne Carolina, Efrog Newydd, Washington, Kentucky ac Idaho. Roedd hyn yn cynnwys safleoedd a oedd yn cael eu dadgomisiynu. Rwy’n mwynhau byw a gweithio yng Ngogledd Cymru a gweithio gyda gweithlu hynod fedrus Trawsfynydd i barhau i gyflawni ein cenhadaeth yn ddiogel ac yn effeithlon, gan baratoi’r safle ar gyfer Gofal a Chynnal a Chadw yn y tymor hir.

2. Trosolwg Diogelwch

Rydym yn parhau i gael newyddion cadarnhaol am ein perfformiad diogelwch. Mae prif ffigurau Cyfradd Cyfanswm y Digwyddiadau a Gofnodwyd (TRIR) a'r Gyfradd Achosion Diwrnodau i Ffwrdd (DACR) yn parhau yn Sero, gan ddangos nad ydym wedi cael unrhyw anafiadau difrifol ers dros ddwy flynedd. Mae profiad wedi dysgu i ni fod gwyliadwriaeth ac anogaeth yn allweddol i gynnal amgylchedd gwaith diogel. Gyda hyn mewn golwg, mae “Targed Sero” yn parhau i fod yn elfen bwysig o fywyd y safle. Mae'r ymgyrchoedd misol yn parhau i gefnogi’r dull ‘Targed Sero’ tuag at ddiogelwch, iechyd a lles. Ers y GRhS diwethaf, mae’r pynciau diogelwch canlynol wedi cael eu hyrwyddo: Safonau radiolegol, Rheoli Gwastraff, Diogelwch cemegol, Defnyddio Cyfarpar Sgrin Arddangos ac Ystum y Corff yn y Gwaith a Sicrhau Ansawdd. Un uchafbwynt ers yr adroddiad diwethaf oedd y Diwrnod Diogelwch Offer Symudol. Trefnwyd y digwyddiad hwn gan dîm diogelwch y safle yn gweithio gyda'n partneriaid contractio ar y safle, yn cynnwys Interserve. Yr amcan oedd codi ymwybyddiaeth o'r peryglon a godir gan offer symudol ar y safle a'r anawsterau a wynebir gan weithredwyr cerbydau o'r fath. Ymwelodd 135 o bobl â'r arddangosfeydd i ddysgu am bwysigrwydd cyrraedd croesfannau yn ofalus, y mannau dall sydd o gwmpas y gwahanol beiriannau, y mannau nad yw gweithredwyr yr offer yn ei weld yn iawn wrth weithio a’r dechnoleg ar gael i helpu osgoi gwrthdrawiad. Cafodd y digwyddiad ei ffilmio'n broffesiynol a chynhyrchir fideo addysgu i'w ddefnyddio yn y dyfodol yn Nhrawsfynydd a safleoedd eraill.

Page 11: Trawsfynydd Site Trawsfynydd Closure Director’s Report · 12/3/2018  · Reporting of events using the Q-Pulse web portal has been successful. All involved have adapted to the new

03 Rhagfyr 2018 Adroddiad Cyfarwyddwr Cau GRhS Trawsfynydd 3 | T u d a l e n

Digwyddiad nodedig arall oedd y trydydd Diwrnod Ymwybyddiaeth Cymorth Cyntaf a gynhaliwyd 6

Tachwedd i hyrwyddo cymorth cyntaf ar y safle a gynhaliwyd gan y Pwyllgor Ymgynghorol Iechyd,

Amgylchedd, Diogelwch. Roedd pob un o'r tri diwrnod ymwybyddiaeth yn cynnwys gwaedu, esgyrn

wedi'u torri, llosgiadau, anafiadau pen, CPR, adferiad a sut i ddefnyddio Diffibrilydd Allanol

Awtomataidd. Roedd y diwrnodau ar gael i holl bersonél y safle. Cafwyd adborth cadarnhaol o bob

sesiwn. Roedd y digwyddiad hefyd wedi ysgogi diddordeb mewn cymhwyso fel cynorthwywyr cyntaf

ar y safle.

Bu adrodd am ddigwyddiadau gan ddefnyddio porth gwe Q-Pulse yn llwyddiannus. Mae'r holl bobl

dan sylw wedi addasu i'r broses newydd. Er bod monitro tueddiadau’n parhau, ni nodwyd unrhyw

grwpiau sylweddol o ddigwyddiadau mewn adolygiadau diweddar.

Mae'r safle’n parhau gyda’i ymrwymiad i fod yn lle gwaith diogel ac iach, sy’n wyliadwrus wrth geisio

cyflawni Targed Sero.

2.1 Sicrhau Ansawdd (SA) a Goruchwylio

Mae cyflwr Sicrhau Ansawdd yn Nhrawsfynydd yn parhau i wella. Mae Peirianwyr SA bellach wedi'u

hymsefydlu o fewn meysydd prosiect. Mae hyn wedi codi proffil y ddisgyblaeth ar y safle.

Adlewyrchir hyn yn Arolygiad Archwilio’r Cwmni a’r Rhaglen Archwilio wedi’i Hadolygu 2018/19 sy'n

rhedeg i amserlen, a’r gwelliannau ailadroddol sy’n cael eu gwneud wrth i ni addasu tuag at

archwilio yn seiliedig ar brosesau. Mae cydlynu canolog a choladu canlyniadau hefyd yn galluogi y

nodir tueddiadau ledled y cwmni, gan gryfhau'r ymateb ym mhob safle. Mae Matrics Sicrwydd y

safle hefyd yn parhau i aeddfedu wrth iddo gofnodi'r ystod eang o weithgareddau sicrwydd a wneir

ar y safle. Mae hyn yn dod â'r wybodaeth a gasglwyd i un maes fel bod tueddiadau safle’n haws i'w

nodi, gan ganiatáu bod gwelliannau'n cael eu gwneud yn lleol. Mae'r fenter hon yn cael ei hasesu

i'w defnyddio ar bob safle.

Mae rhesymoli dogfennau'r safle’n parhau i symud ymlaen ac mae Dogfennau Proses y cwmni’n

cael eu gweithredu. Mae'r ymgyrch i leihau dogfennau hwyr wedi gwneud cynnydd da. Mae nifer

gymharol fach yn aros i gael eu hadolygu. Mae archif dogfennau’r safle’n destun rhesymoli, yn

barod ar gyfer archifo terfynol oddi ar y safle. Mae hyn yn llafurddwys ond yn symud ymlaen gyda

chefnogaeth dda gan bob adran. Y budd yw mai dim ond deunydd y dylid ei gadw yn y tymor hir

sy’n mynd i’r archif terfynol.

3. Proses Ddadgomisiynu

3.1 Rhaglen Offer a Strwythurau

Mae gweithrediadau brasnaddu Brokk wedi’u cwblhau o fewn lonydd Pyllau Trawsfynydd. Mae

gweithrediad llwyddiannus i allforio pob un o’r tri pheiriant brasnaddu Brokk oddi ar y safle i

gyfleuster niwclear arall ar gyfer defnydd parhaus wedi'i gwblhau. Roedd hyn yn osgoi gorfod cael

gwared â’r offer ar y Brokks a hefyd y costau gwaredu gwastraff cysylltiedig, gan nodi bod yr offer

wedi’i halogi yn radiolegol.

Mae prosiect Tynnu Offer a Dymchwel y Pyllau Pecyn Gwaith 1 wedi mynd rhagddo’n dda yn ystod

y misoedd diwethaf, ac yn fwyaf nodedig, fe dynnwyd pont bibellau’r Cyfleuster Caledu Resin

Page 12: Trawsfynydd Site Trawsfynydd Closure Director’s Report · 12/3/2018  · Reporting of events using the Q-Pulse web portal has been successful. All involved have adapted to the new

(RSP). Cafodd y pibellau trosglwyddo resin a halogwyd yn radiolegol eu tynnu’n llwyddiannus gan

ddefnyddio techneg bagiau menig, a oedd yn ddull newydd ar gyfer y safle ac yn llwyddiannus iawn

wrth leihau'r cyfnodau cyffredinol a lleihau'r angen i weithredu mewn amodau C3. Yn dilyn tynnu

offer y cydrannau gweithredol a chael gwared â'r cladin allanol, tynnwyd y prif strwythur dur gan

ddefnyddio craen symudol 200t mawr a gostwng y bont mewn tair adran, gyda maint terfynol yr

adran yn cael ei gostwng yn y fan a’r lle o ystyried ei lleoliad yn ymyl yr adeilad RSP.

Mae’r golchdy a’r ystafell tanc cawstig nad oedd yn cael eu defnyddio, wedi’u gwagio a gwnaed

cynnydd sylweddol hefyd i symud offer segur o'r hen olchdy gweithredol a ddefnyddiwyd i olchi

Cyfarpar Diogelu Personol wedi’i halogi. Ar hyn o bryd, mae tîm y prosiect yn brysur yn saernïo’r

ynysiad o’r Offer Trin Elifiant Gweithredol er mwyn gallu tynnu’r offer cysylltiedig dros y misoedd

nesaf.

3.2 Cyfleuster Trin Gweddillion Elfennau Tanwydd y Gogledd (NFED)

Mae adferiadau FED o gromgell y Gogledd wedi parhau drwy gydol y flwyddyn. Mae perfformiad wedi bod yn gymysg yn ystod y cyfnod adrodd, gyda chyfnodau pan fu cyfraddau adfer yn uwch na'r rhagdybiaethau sylfaenol, yn gymysg â chyfnodau o ddiffoddiad a achoswyd gan broblemau cyfarpar. Roedd problemau’r cyfarpar mewn ardaloedd anodd eu cyrraedd, yn gysylltiedig yn bennaf â'r system trosglwyddo gwastraff, gan arwain at amser segur sylweddol i fynd i’r afael â nhw. Mae cynyddu dibynadwyedd cyfarpar yn parhau i fod yn faes o ffocws ar y safle. Mae cyfanswm o bymtheg o flychau wedi'u llenwi o bedair cromgell, mae tua 15 tunnell o wastraff lefel canolradd (ILW) wedi cael ei brosesu ac mae mynediad i’r pumed gell ar fin digwydd.

Fe wnaeth Prif Beiriannydd y Rhaglen Wastraff gynnal ‘Adolygiad Parodrwydd Gweithrediadau’, lle

bydd y prosiect FEDER a’r Tîm Gweithrediadau Gwastraff yn dilyn hyn drwy roi sylw i gamau i

hwyluso’r trosglwyddiad ffurfiol o’r cyfleuster i’r Tîm Gweithrediadau Gwastraff.

3.3 Cyfleuster Trin Gweddillion Elfennau Tanwydd y De (SFED)

Yn sgil cwblhau’r broses o osod cam Paratoi i Weithio (STW) SFED yn Awst 2018, mae’r prosiect

wedi symud ymlaen i’r cam Comisiynu Anweithredol (NAC). Hyd yn hyn, mae’r tîm wedi cwblhau

NAC yn yr Ardal Adfer a bron â’i gwblhau yn yr Ardal Broses, lle bydd y tîm yna’n canolbwyntio ar

baratoi ar gyfer y cyfnod pontio ffurfiol o’r NAC i’r cam Comisiynu Gweithredol (AC).

3.4 Gweithrediadau Gwastraff

Mae’r safle wedi cynhyrchu 313 tunnell fetrig o wastraff nad yw'n ymbelydrol hyd yn hyn yn y flwyddyn ariannol hon, y cafodd 79% ohono ei ailgylchu (ailgylchwyd 82% os na chaiff gwastraff peryglus ei eithrio o’r cyfansymiau). Mae system ddadansoddol newydd ar gyfer profi drymiau a phecynnau gwastraff lefel isel wedi cael ei chaffael ac yn cael ei chomisiynu ar hyn o bryd. Bydd hyn yn caniatáu proses fwy effeithlon ar gyfer prosesu pecynnau a pharatoi llwythi yn ogystal ag arbed costau tymor hwy. Prosesu gwastraff lefel isel ymbelydrol etifeddol - Yn mynd ymlaen ar y trywydd cywir gyda 67m3 wedi’i roi o’r safle y flwyddyn ariannol hon hyd yn hyn, ynghyd â 25m3 ychwanegol o gyfarpar ac offer wedi’i ddargyfeirio rhag cael eu hailgylchu (y Brokks a grybwyllir yn adran 3.1) i'w ailddefnyddio mewn safle niwclear arall yn y DU.

3.4.1 Cerrig Milltir Gwastraff

Prif Gromgell Slwtsh (MSV) a’r Cyfleuster Caledu Gwastraff Lefel Ganolradd Cludadwy

(TILWSP) – Mae 40 pecyn o slwtsh swmpus wedi’u hadfer a’u hamgáu. Mae’r tanc ar hyn o bryd yn

y cam Glanhau Ôl-weithredol (POCO), y disgwylir cael pum pecyn ychwanegol o wastraff ohono.

Mae POCO wedi cynnwys defnyddio offeryn gwahanol i gael gwared ar halogiad o du mewn i’r tanc.

Mae tynnu’r halogiad hwn wedi bod yn anodd ac wedi arwain at dreulio mwy o amser ar y cyfnod

hwn o waith nag yr amcangyfrifwyd yn yr adroddiad GRhS diwethaf. Disgwylir cwblhau’r gwaith hwn

erbyn diwedd y flwyddyn ariannol hon.

Mae strwythur plastig a atgyfnerthwyd gan wydr modwlaidd newydd wedi'i osod yn y Cromgellau Gwastraff Gweithredol ac mae'n cael ei gomisiynu ar hyn o bryd. Bydd hyn yn galluogi prosesu ffrydiau gwastraff ILW trwy'r rholer drwm wedi'i leoli yn y cyfleuster.

4. Pobl

Mae Cyd-gyngor Safle Rhanbarthol Cymru wedi’i sefydlu bellach.

Mae Rhaglen Cydraddoldeb, Amrywiaeth a Chynhwysiant (EDI) Magnox yn parhau i gael ei

hyrwyddo drwy’r calendr EDI sydd ar gael i bawb drwy Fewnrwyd Magnox.

Yn ogystal â Chynorthwywyr Cyntaf Iechyd Meddwl penodedig, cyflwynwyd hyfforddiant ar Iechyd

Meddwl i Reolwyr Llinell.

Mae cyfanswm y gweithlu cyfredol yn 208, yn cynnwys 136 gweithiwr Magnox, 57 Gweithiwr a

Gyflenwir o Asiantaeth a 15 Gweithiwr a Gyflenwir drwy Gontract.

5. Diogelwch Amgylcheddol

5.1 Digwyddiadau Amgylcheddol

Yn gynnar yn 2017, ymchwiliodd y safle duedd o faterion dibynadwyedd gyda phympiau samplo staciau nwyon. Nododd yr adroddiad nifer o achosion a oedd yn galluogi bod pwmp samplu is-safonol yn cael ei ddefnyddio ar gyfer monitro nwyon a oedd yn cael eu rhyddhau, a chyfleoedd coll i nodi hyn yn gynt. Cafodd y Rheoleiddiwr, Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru, ei hysbysu’n rheolaidd o'r canfyddiadau a'r camau cywiro. Yng Ngorffennaf 2018, cyhoeddodd y Rheoleiddiwr adroddiad asesu cydymffurfiaeth yn nodi pedwar achos o dorri amod trwyddedau. Nid oedd yr un o'r toriadau yn achosi effaith amgylcheddol. Gwnaethpwyd dau argymhelliad yn yr adroddiad ac maent yn cael eu holrhain er mwyn osgoi diffyg cydymffurfiaeth tebyg yn y dyfodol.

Yn ystod y cyfnod diwethaf hwn, mae’r safle wedi cynnal gollyngiadau lefel isel iawn i’r amgylchedd, yn sylweddol is na'r terfynau blynyddol a ganiateir. Er bod cryn dipyn o waith wedi'i wneud mewn ardaloedd a reolir yn radiolegol, mae’r holl reolyddion diogelu wedi parhau i fod yn effeithiol gyda'r dosau a achoswyd gan bersonél yn parhau i fod ar lefelau isel iawn. Mae’r holl ddata gollyngiadau radiolegol wedi'i seilio ar dri chwarter cyntaf 2018:

Gronynnau Nwyol 0.381 Megabecquerel (MBq) [0.76% o’r terfyn blynyddol]

Tritiwm Nwyol 29.46 Gigabecquerel (GBq) [7.85% o’r terfyn blynyddol]

Tritiwm Elifol 0.43 GBq [0.14% o’r terfyn blynyddol]

Caesiwm Elifol 137 0.17 GBq [1.13% o’r terfyn blynyddol]

Elifol arall 0.35 GBq [1.17% o’r terfyn blynyddol]

6.0 Diogelu rhag Ymbelydredd

Mae’r holl ddognau fel y’u rhagfynegwyd a gydag arferion gwaith mor isel ag sy’n ymarferol resymol (ALARP).

Cyfanswm dos cronnol ar y safle Ionawr hyd at ddiwedd Hydref = 48.8 man milliSieverts (mSv)

[cyfanswm y safle ar yr un pryd yn 2017 oedd 48.3 man mSv, gyda dos diwedd y flwyddyn yn 62.7

man mSv]

Uchafswm dos gweithiwr unigol eleni, hyd at ddiwedd Hydref = 1.8 mSv

[y terfyn cyfreithiol blynyddol yw 20mSv, y cyfartaledd blynyddol yn y DU o ymbelydredd cefndirol

yw 2.5 -3.0 mSv]

7. Trefniadau mewn Argyfwng

Dri mis ar ddeg ar ôl ‘Pontio Oddi ar Sifftiau’, mae ein trefniadau brys wedi’u hymgorffori'n dda

mewn gweithdrefnau ac arferion gweithredol. Mae'r tîm diogelwch bellach yn hollol hyfedr o ran

trefniadau oriau tawel.

Mae Rheolwyr a Rheolyddion ar Ddyletswydd, Gwarcheidwaid Arweiniol a Dirprwy Warcheidwaid

Arweiniol wedi cael hyfforddiant Rheoli Digwyddiadau Critigol. Mae hyfforddi Rheolydd ar

Ddyletswydd newydd bron wedi'i gwblhau a bydd yn ‘Bersonél Cymwysedig a Phrofiadol’

gweithredol cyn diwedd y flwyddyn.

Cafodd yr ymarfer diogelwch a arddangoswyd ar 27 Mehefin dderbyniad da ac fe'i hystyrir yn

ddigonol gan y Rheoleiddwyr. Roedd adborth yr aseswr yn gadarnhaol. Cynhelir ymarferion lleol yn

barhaus i wella gwybodaeth a sgiliau a'u dangos.

Bwriedir cynnal ymarfer arddangos diogelwch y safle naill ai ym mis Ebrill neu fis Mai 2019. Mae ymarfer diogelwch y safle a drefnir ar gyfer dydd Mercher 27 Mawrth 2019 yn y camau cynllunio olaf, gyda’r senario wedi'i gwblhau a’r dogfennau wedi’u paratoi i'w cyflwyno i'r Rheoleiddwyr.
