Christmas in July results are in. Thanks to all who gave gift
cards! Your cards totaling $1,200 benefited the following: $450
for prison ministry; $325 for Domestic Violence Services of
Cumberland and Perry Counties, $225 for Camp Curtin; $200
for Bethesda Mission.
Also thanks to your generosity, our Social Ministry Team has
designated $2,500 in outreach funds as follows: $250 to
Christian Churches United for annual meeting; $500 to Camp
Curtin Y for mulch and seed for Fall Festival for inner-city kids;
$500 to Neighborhood Center for Cooking for Kids program;
$250 to Market Square Church for annual event; and $1,000 to
the Ecumenical Food Pantry for food.
Buy fair-trade coffee, tea, and chocolate in the Gathering
Space before, between, and after services on Sunday,
September 9, and then ongoing on the first Sunday of each
month.
Free Thrivent Financial Workshop. “Savvy Social Security
Planning” will be held at the West Shore Country Club on
September 6 and 13. For details, pick up a brochure in the
Gathering Space.
Blessing of Animals Bring your pets to this special event in honor
of St. Francis of Assisi. Afterward you can mingle with the pets or
join Trinity on the Run for a special animal walk. Saturday, October 6, at 8:15am

Thursday Bible Fellowship (“Lead Pastor Bible Study”) resumes on
Thursday, Sept 20. Join us weekly at 9:30am in Fellowship Hall or
at 7pm in Room 237 to study the theme, “Worship and the Bible.”

Now is a great time to join a Choir or Musical Group!
• Chancel & Concert Choir. Are you interested in singing great
music in a beautiful space? We’re looking for all vocal parts,
especially soprano and bass. Rehearsals resume September 6

• Children’s Choirs and Bell Choirs – Children in grades K
through 5 are invited to participate in our vocal and handbell

• Youth Choir and Bell Choir – We welcome preteens and teens
in grades 6 – 12 to make beautiful music in our Matins (vocal)
Choir and Youth Bell Ensemble. No experience necessary,

Help Harrisburg school kids: Donate
school supplies for Trinity Tutors to take to
Foose, Downey, and Scott elementary
schools. Our goal is to make 325 kits; each
one includes pencils, erasers, a 24-count
crayon box, tissues, a composition book,
and a plastic pencil case. Put your
donation of any of these items in the
school house display in the Gathering
Space through the end of September.

Coupon Ministry needs a new leader. After many years of faithful
service, Trinity member Sophie Rice is headed to college.
Contact the church office if you can step in to sort coupons
brought in by Trinity members and mail them to overseas com-
missaries for our military personnel to use.
Trinity is setting up a station on the
Market Street sidewalk for this
community event on September 22.
It’s a great opportunity to introduce
ourselves, and we’ll be providing
snacks and crafts for the folks who
stop by. Watch for signups to help.

Confirmation Class. This year-long class is for youth
in Grade 8. Led by Peter Fox with the help of
pastors and guest speakers, the active discussion,
fun, and fellowship will help you accept the roles
promised to God at your baptism. You must sign
up to participate!
Class begins on September 9 at 9:45 am in Room 12. Questions

YG starts next Sunday, September 9
Join us from 6-8:30 pm for Youth Group (YG). We’ll bring the
pizza; you bring your friends. It’s going to be an amazing year of

home, 245 South Lewisberry Road, Mechanicsburg. Breakfast
starts at 8 am followed by discussion, and we wrap up by 9:30.

Men of Trinity: Steak & Corn Dinner and Cornhole Challenge is
Saturday, September 8, at Adams-Ricci Park, Enola. The
cornhole challenge starts at 3 pm; steak and corn on the cob
is at 4 pm. Adults pay $12; folks 18 and under are free. Sign up
in the Gathering Space between services.
Tuesday Morning Men’s Bible Study starts on September 11.
Join us the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 8am at
Brother’s Restaurant, Route 15 South, Mechanicsburg. This
year’s theme is “Rulers of the Bible.”
Trinity Lutheran Open “Chase for the Chalice” will be held
October 6 at 10 am at the historic Carlisle Barracks Golf Club.

September’s art exhibit consists of warm and comforting quilts
made by the dedicated, diligent Women of Trinity Sewing
Ministry. Stop by to see the quilts and read more about the
group’s work. And you (anyone age 12 and over, no sewing
experience needed!) can make quilts with the friendly group
members when they meet monthly (except December) in
Room 237. Meeting days/times are the first Tuesday from 6 to 9
pm and the third Tuesday from 9 am to 3 pm.
