Smartphones abound, and withthem comes the ability to

snap a pic wherever, whenever.Thanks to social-media photo-sharing networks such as Insta-gram, broadcasting them is just aclick away. In fact, as of late April,Instagram topped 700 millionusers. That’s a lot of photos beingshared around the world.

So addictive is the platform,especially in the travel realm,that it has inspired many iPhoneand neophyte photographers toforgo their smartphones in

favour of a DSLR and join theranks of the pros. Examples ofself-taught, self-made travel pho-tographers on Instagram areplenty: Lauren Bath (@laurenep-bath), Christoffer Collin (@wiss-laren), Lauren Bullen(@gypsea_lust), Jewels (@jewels-zee) or Sean Byrne (@byrnepho-tography), to name a few.
