I Recap: Christine began experiencing symp-

toms that her gynecologist, Dr. Palmer, said

were perimenopause the first stages of the

change of life. She decided to take herhealth into her own hands and borrowed

some prescription hormone cream from her

friend Barb. The cream contained the male

hormone testosterone, and it had some inter-esting effects on Christine, making her more

aggressive and a force to be reckoned withwhen mean moms Marly and Lindsay

crossed her. Christine and Richard had a dis-agreement over whether to allow Ritchie to

attend the school cotillion, which Christine

I Recap: Charlie was dating Angie, who wasquite a few years his senior and had a son in

his 30s. His therapist thought this was becauseof unresolved issues with his mother, but

Charlie discounted that idea. Alan was also

interested in Angie, so Charlie slept with her

to strengthen their bond. Later, Charlie met

Angies future daughter-in-law, who turned outto be a woman he used to date. The young

woman realized she still had feelings for

Charlie, and her fiance called off the weddingwhen he found out. A distraught Angie blamedCharlie for her sons heartbreak and broke up

with him. Unfortunately for Alan, however, she

How I Met Your Mother Returns: 8:30 p.m. Monday

I Recap: Ted was in a cab when it got T-boned

by another car, and he escaped without a

scratch. Marshall called it a miracle. Robin dis-

agreed, and Marshall countered with severalstories of close calls that ended well, involving

Barneys nose, a pencil, head lice and a stoned

airport security guard. Ted broke up with

Stella but changed his mind. Lily called

Barney to tell him about Teds accident, and heran to the hospital after missing a cab but

almost got hit by a bus. Robin explained that

she doesnt believe in miracles because of a lie

her parents told her about the family dog whenshe was little. Ted proposed to Stella, but her

answer wasnt revealed.I Cast: Alyson Hannigan, Jason Segel, Josh

The Big Bang TheoryReturns: 8 p.m. Monday

I Recap: Penny and her new boyfriend fought over

his allegedly posting details of their sex life on his

blog. Leonard read the material and told her it wasjust the guys way of declaring his love. She went

to his house to reconcile and caught him with

another woman. It was then that she decided shedhad enough of good-looking, rich fellows and just

wanted a nice guy. Leonard asked her out. Sheldon,

invoking a physics theory she didnt quite under-

stand, advised her to go on the date. Penny andLeonard kissed at her door before going out to a

Chinese restaurant, which they left when they

spotted Sheldon haranguing the manager in

very bad Mandarin he learned for the occasion about a menu change.

Ghost WhispererReturns: 8 p.m. Oct. 3

I Recap: Melinda met her long-missing

father, Tom Gordon, and learned he had beena prosecutor who had sent a man, Paul

Eastman, to prison for the death of a boynamed Michael, whose spirit hadnt crossed

over. Michaels ghost told her that his death

was an accident and that Paul simply found

the body. She rushed to warn Tom that Paulwas after him, but Tom was in critical condi-

tion after a suicide attempt. Eventually she

found out Paul and her mother had been

engaged and that Tom knew the truth aboutMichaels death, but he did nothing to help

Paul because he wanted Melindas mother for himself, and after Paul escaped from prison, Tom

killed him. Finally, Melinda learned that Paul, not Tom, was her real father.I Cast: Camryn Manheim, David Conrad, Jennifer Love Hewitt (pictured above) and Jay Mohr
