AdApTIvE STRENGTH CURvE TECHNOLOGy. One of the important secrets of strength and hypertrophy training is the strength/curve relationship in human muscles. Simply stated, every muscle in the human body share a number of mechanical and physiological similarities. One such similarity is the strength curve relationship that applies to all muscles. Every muscle is strongest at the mid point and weakest at the end points, otherwise known as the origin and insertions. The Healthstream “Platinum” series understands this situation and creates a load that matches the strength curve of the muscle. This is why we call the Platinum series the “smart” group of the Healthstream strength range. As each exercise is performed, the first part of the movement is matched with a reduced load which then increases to a maximum weight as the mid point then reduces again as the range of motion is completed. All of this is done without changing the selector pin on the weight stack!

pARAbOLIC pRESS ARMS THE NATURAL MOvEMENT pATH Of THE bOdy’S pRESSING MOTION. The Healthstream strength series incorporate “Parabolic Press Arms” for the pushing movements in the three ranges. When working the shoulders and chest, the natural movement of the arms is toward the midpoint at full extension (like a parabola). Weight machines that do not incorporate this movement are not fully working the muscle. A straight or linear movement only works the outer portion of the muscle. Independent press arms are able to identify any strength disparity between left and right sides of the body and also ensure greater rotation of the shoulder joint increasing joint strength and flexibility.
