Man being the most superior creature of God hasbeen assinged with immense talent but despite allhis capabilities he needs to live in a society amongother people with whom he is attached in differentways. He has in his nature an instinct to formrelations with others and work with them.For the

same purpose he needs to ive in certian groupsand societies and has to interact with others fornot only emotional needs but for his survival andsafety.Individual as looked in relation to this vasteuniverse is not only weak and lonely but is unableto fight all the odds against him.The same weakindividual when is combined with his other matesand fellows form such unit of power that is oftenindomitable .The single frop of water that isworthless and unimportant when loses its identityby immersing itself into the vast ocean accure anew identity which it shares with many other dropsand become a part of strength and power of ocean.The same is the case with humanity.Anindividual when combine his effort with manyothers achieve a certian kind of identity andstrength that is beyond the capacity of a singleman. The old story that we find in the story booksof children of a farmer using the bundle of sticksfor inculcating the lesson of unity among his sonsmay seem old and childish but it has so muchdepth in itself if we ponder over it.And it isespecially relevant to this present age when

mankind has reached on a verge of destruction

because of the various divisions that they havecreated among themselves.

Its a fact that human being tend to gather intodifferent levels and achieve their identity byidentifying themselves with certian groups andnations.It is also a very important need of anindividual. They form different units from family togroups then societies and countries.Divisions inthese sectors is not new phenomenon but hasalways been there throughout human history ashuman beings have the instict of protecting andfollowing their personal intrests and donot hesitateto fight others for the same purpose.However thatis all the part of game and will remain so as longas there is life.But at the same time Man has suchobjectives that can only be achieved by hiscombining his efforts with those of others. These

objectives are unattainable unless and untill he joinwith others thus forming a unit which can beproperly moilize to achieve the sameobjectives.Unity,if we take a look around wasnever so badly needed as it is today.

Today world is divided on different levels.Even atthe most primal unit of society we see the lack of

unity even among family members.The families donot seem to be as united as they used to be in thepast.Societies are disintegrating from within andare divided in different classes.At this age of machine and technology everyone is busy in thepursuit of his personal gains.The countries aredivided for their different economic and financialobjectives.Not even relegions in themselves areunited.Here we see different sorts of divisions and

conflicts based on different sects.Almost allrelegions have thier furthur sects which not onlydivide its followers but are creating differences that

aggravate the situation to the point of bloodshed.Such differences have become the cause of muchdamage to the world peace.And the remedy liesonly in the unity in all planes.Together humanbeings can fight a victorious battle against all thevices and disintegrations that are growing day byday.

The strength of unity is immense and is also timetested. History has proved this fact that wheneverpeople gather,ruled by the same passion andspirit,no power was being able to stand beforethem. Dictators, forces, oppression, rulers all hadto bend before this power of masses. Allrevolutions in t he history have been made possible

by this power of unity.Its only when people decideto not to be exploited by dominating powers andcombine thier efforts,the great powers of the worldhad to kneel before them.Each new positivechange demand a united effort and passion.Wehave the examples of different revolutions whenpeople revolted against authority and oppression.The most conspicuos example of this is French

Revolution of 1789.Here we see that suchunprovided people who were ruled with an ironhand and were exploited by the class of clery andNobles.But when these straving people decidedonce to overthrow the areistocracya nd collecttogether to fight against oppression andexploitation tehn they made the miraclespossible.Frech Revolution is an excellent exampleof the latent power of masses.It was like a

dormant volcano but when it became active itburns everything with its lava that come in its way.

Another very fine example of this strength of unitylies not far but is the formation of our own countrypakistan on the map of the world.After beingruthlessly crushed by the Hindus and British whenMuslims combine their efforts for teh attainment of their own separate homeland where they canpromote their relegious and cultural valus.And theresult was marvellous in the shape of Pakistan.Sowe see that no amount of power can withstand thecollective effort of masses when they are bentupon to achieve something.Unfortunately people usully exhibits this kind of unity scracely and in very extreme conditions.If allthe nations and societies can only recognize thebenefits of unity and fight with all odds against

them unitedly only then they can get rid of theirmost of problems.World is on a strange edgetoday. Mankinds are faced with a number of challenges The most of them are poverty, illiteracy,disease and above all natural clamities. Anod mostof all we are faced with a new problem namelyTerrorism whcih has assumed a horriblestature.These problems cannot be solved without a

collective will and collective efforts.Proliferation of nuclear weapons has aggravated the situation to agrand scale.Every country is faced with theproblems of poverty and illiteracy and in manythird world countries the human situation isdeplorable.Developed countries are too much busyin their own concerns of security and wolddomination.The harmony between cultures andrelegions can hardly be seen and ther is a talk of

"Clash Of Civilizations". in western world. Infactthe world is divided in different sectors.Each nationis busy either in ensuring her own survival or a war

of objectives so the result is that rich are becomingricher and the condition of poors is degeneratingday by day.

Such a situation is hardly conducive to the peaceand prosperity of world.The trend in InternationalPolitics has tend to take a very serious form whereall western forces are joined together againstmuslims calling them as terrorists and a threat tothe peace of world.The disintegration and conflictin Muslim world hampers the way to a collectiveeffort or strategy for muslims to face thesituation.The fact is that muslims are themselvesdivided as they have forget the true teaching of Islam that asks them to resolve their conflicts and

unite against all enemies.Unity as seen from Islamic percpective is the mostdesired quality in a society or nation.Islam beingthe relegion of peace,love and brotherhood asks itsfollowers to unite with each other. HolyProphet(PBUH) came in a society of Arabs when itwas divided on different bases like groups,tribes

and races.He professed such values of brotherhoodand equality that made them an integrated societywhere people were linked with each other in amutul relation of love and respect. There are manyverses in Holy Quran where muslims are beingasked to be united and cultivate no differences inthemselves.The importance of unity is emphasizedvery much for as long as they are united no powercan overcome them. Islam presents the picture of

a very united Islamic society where all muslims areclosely related to each other.The perfect exampleof this integrated society can be seen as set up in

Madina by Holy Prophet(PBUH).Here Holy ProphetHimself joined muslims as borthers and no betterexample of such unity is seen in history.And aslong as muslims remember this golden rule theywere above the world and no power was able todominate them. But when they forget this sourceof their power and indulge themselves in differentconflict then their downfall began.And time hasproved this fact.

Today muslims are divided in differentsects,territories and classes.And most dangreousdivision is of course the sectarian one.Sectarianviolence has done much damage to the muslimsocieties internally as well as externaly.Internally it

results in the bloodshed of muslims bymuslims,economic backwardness , and extremismthat has made the internal conditions of islamiccountries worst.Externally it has tarnished theoverall muslims of the world and has also given theopportunity to the opponent forces of the Islam toraise fingers at it.Muslims are busy in fighting witheach others and killing the other muslims(though

of different sect) in the very name of Islam.Sectarian violence is not only the problem of Pakistan but other muslim countries are alsosuffering from it. The fight in Iraq may be agaistthe common enemy United States, but ithe attackson Mosques and Holy Shrine have become veryfrequent. Sunnis Shias and Kurds all are fightingagainst each other instead of concentrating theirefforts against United states.Such a state of affairs

has damaged the muslim image on thewhole.Muslims who once were indomitable are nowpersecuted in differnt parts of the world like

Palistine,Kashmire,Iraq and Afghanistan.Thesecurity of many others like Syria,Iran andLebonan is also in danger.

The policy of divide and rule is not new to thewestern powers.Through these tactics they werebeing able to rule on thier colonial territories forlong and through this same old tactic they arethese days trying to rule over muslims. Muslimsare divided and then ruled.The action and reactionof muslim countries over teh issues of Afghanistanand Iraq are so diverse,some are agaisnt it ,someare part of the so called alliance,some haveresorted to indifference.This division in our ownranks is encouraging to other forces.Even within a

single country the ideas and views of commonpeople are not uniform.They re divided amongmodren,liberal,conservatives and fanatics.Someare condemning the ac some are taking the side of goverments and more are indifferent to he issuesother than thier own personal advantage andbenefit.The current situation is quiet favourable tothe opponents who are united in their actions

against muslims.It is the need of hour that muslimshould pay attention to their circumstancesandanalyze them right from the begining,calculatetheir mistakes and finally devise a new strategybased on unity.The reason for these divisions arevery diverse.

Materialism has plagued the world to a greatextent.People are running after their self intrest

and objectives.Te same is the case on a broaderlevel.Muslim countries are divided according totheir own benefits and socio-economic needs.They

are caught in the web of their own financial andeconomic conditions that restric thier free choice aswell as judgment.Those muslim countries that arerich like Arab countries are not strong enough totake any action but are under the westerninfluence despite all their wealth.And many poormuslim countries are dependent on these westerncountries for thier finnacial and economicassistence that they annually recieve from them.

Sectarian differences are another cause of thisdivision and it also involve the wrong perception of Islam.Some false Ulema has done damage to Islambecause f their ignorance and lack of knowledge.They inculcate thewrong and

extremeviews against other sect in the minds of innocent people.Even some believe that by killingthe follower of other sect would lead them straightto the heaven.Such believes are highly unislamicand are against the teaching of Islam where to killan innocent person is equal to the killing of wholehumanity.Poverty,ignorance,extremism andfanaticisma are underming the very bases of our

owns societies.

Now the question arise that how can this situationbe improved and how muslims can be saved fromthis degenated condition.The solution lies withintheir own hands and it can be summed up in asimple word which would be "Unity".Union of muslims in all levels and fields is needed.Muslimneed to be united in their respective countries,in

their societies and on an upper level Muslimcountries should be united in facing the forcesagainst Islam,in facing their problems in a

country.

Muslim countries are endowed by God with allkinds of resources.We have countries rich in Oiland Gas like Arab countries,Iran and Iraq,bigeconomic markets like Turkey,Egypt and Atomicpower like Pakistan.Only if these countries pooltheir resources together and rely on each othertheir dependence on western forces can be easliydone away with.Rich muslim countries should helptheir underdevelop and developing muslimcountries in different field so that they can maketheir condition better.A large number of muslimsare working in western countries.Their technicalassistance can be utilized in muslim countries to

enhance their economic as well as technicalsituation.

To promote the true teaching of Islam is veryimportant.Muslim goverment should ensure theprovidence of the true Islamic teaching .Oureducational syllabus must inculcate the values thatislam stressed in the young minds.All sects should

unite in defending Islam and respect each others.

OIC is a very imortant organization as it is the onlyplateform to unite muslims so far.It must be mademore potent so that it can decide the future line of action for muslim countries.It should ensure thecoperation between muslim countries and alsoprovide monetery as well as technical assistence tothose who need it.So in this way muslim shuold

plan their future where their relations with eachother is based on unity and brotherhood only inthat case we can have some sort of positive future

of them in this world.

So unity is the only resort for muslim in this timeof need.But it is not only the muslims that needthe unity but on the whole all humanity need to beunited against all the forces that have made lifedifficult on this planet. Nuclear weapons held thedanger for the whole humanity these days. Theyhave made the future of mankind on this planetdoubtful and for meeting this danger manking needto be united with each other.But there are otherthreats to humanity as growing rate of poverty,unemployment and corruption withincountries as well as withing the relations of countries themselves.Now these issue demands

more attention than the so called superficialconflicts and differences for above all man wascreated to alleviate the suffering of others likehim.Differences based on race,sex,relegions andlanguages need to be resolve for we claim to bemore modrenized and civilized than the previousgenerations.Man has reached on the unlimitedspace and planets but still at home he is backward

enough as he is still tangled in prejudices againstothers.The interfaith harmony is the need of hourfor if this situation between nations and relegionscontinuesit will surely lead to a mutual destructionand above all human existence on this planet canbe in danger.for it is rightly said that "together westand and parted we fall".__________________Woods are lovely dark and deep

You have done good solid analysis in essay. Usageof long sentences proves your intelligence as well...but keep in mind that usage of long sentences maybe risky from exam point of view. Secondly longsentences require appropriate use of punctuations.You have ignored this aspect in this essay. On thewhole, it's good admirable effort. Thanks forsharing.
