UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION POLICY (FALL-2020)

GENERAL CRITERIA:

1.1 University of Gujrat (UOG) Online admissions for all Undergraduate degree programs shall be

processed against the advertisement in print and electronic media under Semester System on OPEN

MERIT and Reserved Quotas as mentioned below in Annexure-01.

1.2 Unless mentioned in Annexure-I, the reserved seats are only for the degree programs offered at the

Hafiz Hayat Campus along with the degree programs offered in Morning session at UOG City

Campus Marghzar Colony, offered in Morning session at UOG City Campus GT Road Gujrat and

diploma holders and DJPSC Quota for degree programs offered in Morning session at Mandi

Bhauddin Campus.

1.3 Only Online complete application(s) along with uploaded following compulsory required documents

shall be processed:

a) Unless mentioned; otherwise, Bank electronic transaction receipt / Draft for admission application

processing charges.

b) Candidate’s passport size photograph (with blue background and up to 300 x 350 pixels; JPG file).

c) Terminal / last certificate’s / degree’s DMC / Transcript; ONLY FIRST YEAR (in case of

intermediate, Associate degree or equivalent or FIRST TWO YEARS (in case of DAE) or

THIRD YEAR (in case of 14 years of education) for respective Undergraduate degree

program(s).

d) In case of the combined results the candidate shall calculate and upload desired year results only;

however, shall attach combined DMC/Transcript at his own responsibilities. In case of any

discrepancy, fake documentation or concealment of facts the admission shall be cancelled at

any stage of the degree.

e) The applicants against any reserved seat shall upload all relevant documents mentioned in the

below Annexure-I; otherwise, the application shall not be processed.

1.4 Considering the required eligibility, a candidate may apply for more than one degree programs.

1.5 The submitted application(s) shall be acknowledged by the text message on the applicant’s given cell

number.

1.6 The candidates may also check the submitted application(s) acceptance status after three working

days of the submission on the provided admission UOG account.

1.7 Department wise / Degree wise / Date wise electronic applicants’ lists of all applicants shall be

uploaded on UOG admission portal (https:/uog.edu.pk) after the closing date of the admissions. The

referred lists shall be generated date wise as per received applications Thus, shall not be considered

as Merit List.

1.8 The missing candidates (if any) may contact department concerned through email at least two days

before the notification / display of the first Merit List; otherwise, no claim shall be accepted after the

notification / display of the first Merit List.

1.9 Subject to the provision of seats and eligibility and with the approval of respective Deans /HODs. The

change of subject within stipulated time shall only be allowed to the applicants who have already

applied for the desired degree program(s).

1.10 Semester dues shall be refunded (if requested) within stipulated time as per UOG policy / rules which

are available at UOG admission portal (https:/uog.edu.pk).

1.11 Considering government SOPs for COVID-19, the University shall not establish Admission

Facilitation Centers this year. However, in case of any query or guidance the candidates may contact

1.14 All the selected candidates mentioned in any merit lists shall appear before the respective

Departmental Admission Committee along with all credentials (in original), CNIC and two sets of

attested copies of all credentials placed in an ordinary paper folder with in stipulated time before the

notification / display of the next merit list to get bank Challan for the semester fee/dues and securing

of admission. However, the GOP SOPs for COVID-19 shall strictly be followed. No applicant

without mask, gloves and sanitization shall be allowed to enter in UOG. Only one parent /

guardian shall be allowed. The parent / guardian shall stay outside department office.

1.15 Unless mentioned, the admission dues/fee shall be deposited during the stipulated period in the

designated branches of the banks at Hafiz Hayat Campus, University of Gujrat and a copy of same

shall have to be deposited in the department concerned for semester registration. The referred dues/fee

shall not be deposited in any other bank.

1.16 In case the semester fee/dues are not deposited within stipulated time the admission shall stand

cancelled.

1.17 Subject to the availability, hostel facility shall be provided for the candidates having domicile other

than District Gujrat.

1.18 A candidate shall have to pay nonrefundable Rs 850/- as admission processing fee within the

stipulated time as mentioned in the admission advertisement / calendar for a degree program.

However, Rs 300/- each shall be paid for each extra application.

1.19 Equivalence Certificate of “A” Levels or Intermediate Certificate awarded by the foreign institutions

issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) is mandatory to upload along with

application OR the UOG Provisional Equivalence Certificate.

1.20 The UOG Provisional Equivalence Certificate is a temporary facilitation by the UOG in the current

COVID-19 situation. However, the applicant shall have to provide the Equivalence Certificate issued

by the IBCC to confirm the admission. Otherwise, the admission shall stand cancelled.

1.21 The applicant may request for the issuance of the Provisional Equivalence Certificate through

email [email protected] on the prescribed template available on UOG admission portal

(https:/uog.edu.pk). Accordingly, the quarter concerned shall provide the same to the applicant

through his / her email with a copy to the Admission Committee within two working days of the

receipt.

1.22 In case the candidate(s) has degree other than that of UOG, the UOG approved policy for the

conversion of marks into CGPA shall be applied.

1.23 The applicant’s upper age limit shall be 25 years at the admission closing date. No further age

relaxation is permissible.

1.24 Applicants of reserved seats shall upload all relevant documents with the online application form

described in Annexure-I.

1.25 UOG employees shall apply for the Employment Certificate on the template uploaded on admission

portal (https:/uog.edu.pk) to the Registrar University of Gujrat on email [email protected].

Accordingly, the quarter concerned shall provide the same to the applicant through his email with a

copy to the Admission Committee within two working days of the receipt.

1.26 Considering minimum required number of students per Section and the departmental resources the

University reserves the right for not offering any degree program(s).

1.27 Considering above Para if a degree program is not offered. The deposited semester dues shall be

refunded as per UOG policy/rules.

1.28 Other than degrees accredited with the HEC recognized Councils the section shall be within the range

of (25 to 60) students.

1.29 The BSc Engineering, LLB (Hons), BS-Computer Science, BS-Information Technology and BS-

Software Engineering degree programs are accredited with the HEC recognized Councils. Thus, the

approved number of seats and Sections by the respective councils shall be followed.

a) The BSc Engineering degrees are accredited with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

b) The LLB (Hons) is accredited with the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC).

c) The BS-Computer Science, BS-Information Technology and BS-Software Engineering offered

at University of Gujrat are accredited with the National Computing Education Accreditation

Council (NCEAC).

1.30 Unless mentioned the applicants having 3-years relevant Associate Diploma (DAE) duly recognized

by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE) shall only apply against reserved quota.

1.31 The applicants having 14 years of education or equivalent shall only be allowed to apply for the

admission in the relevant MA /MSc degree programs.

ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR RESERVED SEATS IN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE

PROGRAMS (EXCEPTIONS / CONDITIONS ARE MENTIONED WITH EVERY

CATEGORY)

1) In addition to the above mentioned general admission criteria the following criteria shall also be

applicable upon all reserved seats applicants.

2) The merit of the offered reserved seats given below shall be determined within the category;

however, the applicant has to fulfill the general minimum admission eligibility criteria to apply for.

3) In case any reserved seat is not filled, the same shall be treated toward open merit.

4) In case if more than required nominations are received for a particular degree program, UOG shall

reserve the rights to prepare the merit list as per UOG policy.

5) Only Online complete application(s) along with uploaded following compulsory required

documents shall be processed:

a) Unless mentioned; otherwise, Bank Draft for admission application processing charges.

b) Candidate’s passport size photograph (with blue background and up to 300 x 350 pixels; JPG

file)

c) Terminal / last certificate’s / degree’s DMC / Transcript (PDF file); ONLY FIRST YEAR (in

case of intermediate, Associate degree or equivalent) or FIRST TWO YEARS (in case of

DAE) or THIRD YEAR (in case of 14 years of education) for all Undergraduate degree

program(s).

d) In case of the combined results the candidate shall upload self-calculated and upload the desired

year results and shall attach combined DMC/Transcript. However, all responsibilities of the

provided data in the application shall rest upon the applicant. In case of any discrepancy,

fake documentation or concealment of facts the admission shall be cancelled at any stage

of the degree.

e) The applicants against any reserved seat shall upload all relevant documents mentioned in the

below Annexure-I; otherwise, the application shall not be processed.

f) Considering the required eligibility, a candidate may apply for more than one reserved seat or

open merit degree programs.

1) SPECIAL PERSONS:

a) Two percent (2%) seats; at least one seat is reserved for special persons in all Undergraduate

degree program EXCEPT BSc Engineering degrees and Bachelor of Architecture. NO

reserved seat in Graduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate degree programs.

b) The applicant shall have to produce a certificate, duly issued by the District Disable

Assessment Committee, Government of Punjab.

c) The candidate shall have to appear before the UOG Medical Board/Committee for Medical

Examination as per advertised schedule along with original credentials.

d) Hard of Hearing shall not be considered as a disability.

2) SPORTS:

a) Two percent (2%) seats; at least one seat is reserved for sports persons in all Undergraduate

degree programs EXCEPT BSc Engineering degrees and Bachelor of Architecture. NO


b) The applicant shall provide a registration certificate from Provincial/District Sports Board

along with certificate(s) of participation at inter college/board level issued by the Education

Department/concerned Board.

c) Final selection shall be made on the basis of trials for each category/event/kind of sports that

shall be held as per advertised schedule and venue at UOG.

d) The University reserves the right to specify the category/event/ kind of sports as per its policy.

3) CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

a) One percent (1%) seat(s); at least one seat is reserved for co-curricular activities in all

Undergraduate degree programs EXCEPT BSc Engineering degrees and Bachelor of

Architecture. NO reserved seat in Graduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate degree programs.

b) The applicant shall have to provide a certificate in the co-curricular activities at inter college

/ board level issued by the Education Department/concerned Board.

c) The final selection shall be made on auditions that shall be held as per advertised schedule

and venue at UOG.

d) The University reserves the right to specify the category/events/ kind of Co-curricular activity

as per its policy.

4) CHILDREN OF UOG EMPLOYEES:

a) Two (2%) seats; at least one seat is reserved for the children of UOG Regular BPS / TTS or

Long-Term Contractual employees (excluding staff on deputation) in all Undergraduate,

Graduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate degree programs.

b) NADRA B-Form, UOG employment certificate issued by Registrar office shall be required

along with admission application form.

5) FATA:

a) Two (2%) seat; at least one seat is reserved for the applicants of FATA in all Undergraduate

not required from the applicant however; domicile and CNIC of FATA shall be required.

6) BALOCHISTAN:

a) One (1%) seat; at least one seat is reserved for the applicants of Balochistan in all Undergraduate

b) The applicant shall produce nomination letter from the respective government.

7) GILGIT-BALTISTAN:

a) One (1%) at least one seat is reserved for the nominees of Gilgit-Baltistan region in all

Undergraduate degree programs EXCEPT BSc Engineering degrees and Bachelor of

Architecture. NO reserved seat in Graduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate degree programs.


8) AZAD JAMMU AND KASHMIR (AJK):

a) One (1%) at least one seat for the nominees of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) region in all

Undergraduate degree programs offered by the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Sciences.


9) AFGHANISTAN:

a) One seat for the nominees of Afghanistan in all undergraduate degree programs offered by the

Faculty of Social Sciences and Department of Mass Communication and Media only.

b) The applicant shall produce nomination letter from the respective Embassy in Pakistan.

10) WARDS OF SHUHADA, WAR DISABLED SERVING AND RETIRED INDIVIDUALS

OF PAKISTAN ARMED FORCES:

a) One percent (1%) seat(s); at least one seat is reserved for the Wards of Shuhada, war disabled,

serving and retired individuals of Pak Army personnel in all Undergraduate degree programs

EXCEPT BSc Engineering degrees. NO reserved seat in Graduate, Postgraduate and

Doctorate degree programs.

b) However, a nomination letter from the GHQ shall be required along with hard copy of the

submitted application.

11) DIPLOMA HOLDER:

a) Two percent (2%) seats at least one seat is reserved for DAE (Diploma in Associate

Engineering) holders duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE)

for admission to the relevant BSc Engineering degree programs.

b) Five percent (5%) seats in “Morning” are reserved for three years Diploma in Associate

Engineering (DAE) in Electrical / Electronics / IT / Computer Hardware / Tele-

Communication duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE) holders

for admission to BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, BS Software degree

programs.

c) Other than above Para (a) & (b) unless mentioned five percent (5%) seats are reserved in all

“Morning” Undergraduate degree programs for the relevant DAE (Diploma in Associate

Engineering) holders duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE).

d) The relevancy of DAE shall be determines by the Departmental Admission Committee.

12) MINORITIES:

a) Five (5%) at least one seat for Minorities in all Undergraduate degree programs EXCEPT

BSc Engineering degrees and Bachelor of Architecture. NO reserved seat in Graduate,

Postgraduate and Doctorate degree programs.

13) CHILDREN OF OVERSEAS PAKISTANIS:

a) Two (2) seats are reserved for the children of overseas Pakistanis in all degree programs

EXCEPT BSc Engineering degrees and Bachelor of Architecture.

14) DISTRICT JINNAH PUBLIC SCHOOL AND COLLEGE, MANDI BAHAUDDIN

a) Ten percent (10%) of total seats in all Undergraduate degree programs offered at UOG Sub

Campus Mandi Bahauddin are reserved for the students of DJPSC Mandi Bahauddin on the

basis of merit.
