** Retired Old Men Eating Out .. All men are invited to join us at the Country Fare Restaurant.
It’s That Time Again!!
The last Arbor Gate resident photo directory was created in 2015. Since then, many of our friends have moved on and many new residents have joined us.
By vote of the residents’ who attended the July Residents meeting, the Board has invited Lifetouch to return to Arbor Gate and take pictures of all our residents. In addition, we will be using the new smaller Community Connect format.
This new Community Connect Directory will be half the size of the 2015 directory, spiral bound with much heavier weight pages. The Directory is up-dateable which is a new service provided by Life-touch. Resident updates will be available on-line as soon as the information is updated. Also, whenever there is a need to add or change at least 25 more photos due to life changes or home sales, Lifetouch will arrange to return to Arbor Gate, take the needed photos and create new Directories. The best part, everyone who has a photo in the updated directory receives a new copy for FREE!! YES, FREE!!!
How does it work? Lifetouch will be on-site on certain dates in September and October. They will:
. Take a series of photos of each resident who has signed up.
. Add the photo the resident selects to the new Community Connect Resident Directory.
. Provide the resident with an 8x10 of their selected photo.
. Provide each resident whose photo is in the directory with a free copy of the directory when printed.
YOUR COST IS $0.00, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA!!!
What’s the “catch”? The “catch” believe it or not is OPTIONAL. If you would like to provide your chil-dren, grandchildren, other family or friends with a professional produced photo of yourself, you may order additional pictures. The charge is based on the available options you elect to order. Can I include my pet in the pictures? Absolutely, your pets are Arbor Gate residents too! Do I have to have a picture taken? No, if you wish to be included in the directory and have a picture you prefer to use, you can submit your own picture
for inclusion to the directory. However, you will incur a $10.00 charge for the service. Submitted photos must be a high-quality digital image (250 dpi preferred) and the file name. Files should include the family last name, first name of all people in the image. Can Lifetouch use the pictures they took in 2015? Unfortunately due to the thousands of photos that Lifetouch takes each year they do not maintain an archive going back that far from which they can retrieve your old photos. Will I be included in the directory if I don’t want my picture taken? All residents will be listed on the roster pages which follow the pictures. One roster is listed by name and the other by street address. How do I sign up? Signup will be available on-
line . The September Newsletter will have a link. Photo dates will be Mon Sep 30, Tues. Oct 1 & Wed. Oct 2 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Also Wed. Oct 30, Thur. Oct 31 and Fri Nov 1 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Saturday Nov 2 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Dates and times are first come first served so be sure to sign up early. Additional dates will be added if needed and only when all slots are booked.
Questions or No Computer Access to Sign Up? Contact Frank Girello, Vice Chair Lakeview Center Residents Board - 717-628-5481, 81 Arbor Dr

SEWING CLUB
Our next meeting will be held August 5th from 10:30 –12:30 at the Lakeview Center downstairs in the large meeting room.
Our project this month will be the soup bowl cozy. Protect hands and furniture from hot soup, chili, or oatmeal with a soup bowl cozy that’s as cute as it is functional! They are fast and easy to make, which makes the ideal handmade gifts!
In addition to your usual sewing notions and thread, you will need:
2-10 inch squares of fabric, 2-10 inch squares of batting, and air or water soluble marking pen. If you plan to microwave your bowl, only use 100% cotton fabric, batting and thread. Anything with polyester or metallic may set on fire in the microwave.
An ironing board, rotary cutters and cutting boards will be available at the center.
My husband will be available form 10:15-10:30 am to bring in sewing machines from your car. There will also be help available for loading them back into your car at the end of the session.
Feel free to bring a project for which you need some advice or would like help to finish or that you just want to work on with other people. Quesions: contact Candie Falger, ΑヱΑ-ヶヲΒ-ヵヲヶΓ or cfalger@coマcast.ミet
