  • The University is guided by the DepEd

    Order no. 8 series of 2015 also

    known as the Policy Guidelines on

  • The K to 12 Basic Education Program

    uses a standard- and competency

    based grading system. These are

    found in the curriculum guides. All

    grades will be based on the weighted

    raw score of the learners summative

    assessments.

  • The minimum grade needed to pass a

    specific learning area is 60%, which is

    transmuted to 75% in the report card.

    The lowest mark that can appear on

    the report card is 60 for Quarterly

    and Final grades.

  • Effective School Year (SY) 2015-2016,

    the Policy Guidelines on Classroom

    Assessment for K to 12 Basic

    Education Program Shall be

    implemented in public elementary

    and secondary schools nationwide.

  • Non-DepEd schools (including UPHSL) are urged to implement policy guidelines as well. Non-DepEd schools are permitted to modify this policy guidelines according to their schools Philosophy, Vision and Mission with the approval of the appropriate DepEd Regional Office.

    adjust instruction accordingly.

    For the Grade School and Junior High

    School, there shall be four (4)

    quarters using the AVERAGING

    SYSTEM. Grades obtained from the

    first to the fourth quarters will be

    added and divided by four to get the

    final rating.

    Grades obtained in each quarter are

    independent from each other. This

    means that a pupil/students

    performance in one quarter is not

    affected by its performance in the

    preceding/succeeding quarter.

    The numerical system of grading shall

    be used and grades shall be expressed

    in multiples of one(1).

    The passing grade in any given subject

    be 75% (transmuted from 60%).

    The learners grade will have

    corresponding descriptors as follows:

    DESCRIPTORS Grading Scale Remarks Outstanding 90-100 Passed

    Very Satisfactory 85-89 Passed

    Satisfactory 80-84 Passed

    Fairly Satisfactory 75-79 Passed

    Did not Meet Expectation

    Below 75 Failed

  • Requirements Decision

    FINAL GRADE of at least 75 in all learning areas.

    Promoted to the next grade level

    FINAL GRADE of lower that 75 in not more than two learning areas.

    Must pass remedial classes for learning

    areas with failing mark to be promoted to the

    next level. Otherwise the learner is

    retained in the same grade level.

  • Requirements Decision

    FINAL GRADE of lower than 75 in 3 or more learning areas.

    Retained in the same grade level.

    Must pass all learning areas in the Elementary.

    Earn the Elementary Certificate

    Promoted to Junior High School

    Must pass all learning areas in the Junior High School.

    Earn the Junior High Certificate

    Promoted to Senior High School

    The committee on Honors and Awards is composed of Principal as the over-all chairman, the Academic Coordinator as the co-chairman, the chairperson for committee on hors and awards, the subject chairpersons, the guidance counselors and the subject teachers as members.

    Any pupil/student may be a candidate

    for honors even if he is a transferee;

    provided he has no grade lower than

    85% in any subject in any quarter

    within the school year

    Deportment Award is given to a

    learner with the highest grade in

    conduct.

    Loyalty Award Loyalty pin is given to a learner who has enrolled at UPHSL from Grade 1 to Grade 6 (for Elementary) and Grade 4 to Grade 10 (for Junior High School) inclusively. Loyalty certificate is given to a learner who has enrolled at UPHSL from Grade 7 to Grade 10.

    During this period, the learner must

    have shown good conduct, observed

    the rules and regulation of the school,

    developed a sense of pride in things

    of and the school, and should not

    have been involved in any incident

    which called for disciplinary action.

    First to third quarter rankings are based

    on academic standing in the current

    quarter only.

    Final ranking of honors are ranked

    using the 7-3 point scheme (7 points

    for academic performance and 3

    points for co-curriculum).

    Co-curricular performance covers the

    achievement of the candidates at all

    levels (school, division, regional,

    national and international) in five (5)

    areas as indicated in DepEd Order

    No. 92. series of 2009; namely,
