Drivers Education for teens in Europehas been an AFAP issue for the past5 years. In response acomprehensive drivers educationprogram for teens in Europe will belaunched in (April) 2011. It is madepossible through a collaborative effortand contract with CYS Services, NAFContracting and the German National

Federation of Driving InstructorsAssociation (Fahrlehrerverband).Development of 4 packages will give

On May 2, 2011, in conjunction withthe School Liaison Office and withBoeblingen Middle Schooladministration, and garrisontransportation office, a procedure was

implemented for Boeblingen MiddleSchool students who were riding themilitary duty busses that departedfrom Panzer. Due to increasedmisbehavior of students on thosebusses, a special pass was created toallow those middle school studentsto be able to ride those shuttle buses.Without that pass, they are beingdenied on the bus. However; having apass does not prevent misbehaviortherefore these passes will berevoked at the end of the school year

in order to reevaluate the system.

The BOTTOM LINE is, parents needto help in this process and reiterate totheir children the importance ofbehaving on the bus where others arepresent. Riding the bus is a privilege,

not a right, and one could lose thatprivilege very easily. CurrentlyDODDS has implemented anadditional activity bus to take childrenfrom Robinson Barracks to Patch andKelley after school programs andensure they get home in a timelymanner. The DODDS activity busdeparts Robinson Barracks MiddleSchool at 1545, Monday thruThursday in order to alleviate thechildren riding home on the militaryshuttle bus.

HOW IT WORKS: Bus passes maybe obtained at the School LiaisonOffice located on Patch Barracks,Building 2347, within the centralregistration office. Parents will need

to sign this form which also includesthe agreement that they will ensurethat the child behaves and whatconsequences could follow if theirchildren are demonstratinginappropriate behavior.

For further questions and perhapssolution ideas, contact Joe Holder,School Liaison Officer,[email protected](go byname is Joe), DSN 430-7465
