The Standard Operations Maintenance Research and Development System will be retired, with its information transferring into the General Fund Enterprise Business System, or GFEBS. GFEBS is one of the Army’s web-based Enterprise Resource Planning systems, or ERPs, that stores financial, real property and other asset, cost and performance data. Fort Hood modernization efforts help materiel readiness FORT HOOD, Texas – Army Materiel Command’s Commanding General, Gen. Ed Daly, and AMC’s senior enlisted advisor, Command Sgt. Maj. Alberto Delgado, visited Fort Hood Dec. 2 to see firsthand how materiel readiness and quality of life efforts at Fort Hood have modernized. “While AMC provides units and Soldiers with the tools of their trade and the ability to deploy, the materiel enterprise must continually look for ways to improve every aspect of how it supports the force,” Daly said. USAMMA takes lead for military COVID-19 vaccine orders FORT DETRICK, Md. – Medical logistics experts at the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency have started receiving COVID-19 vaccine orders from throughout the Department of Defense, in anticipation of the Food and Drug Administration’s emergency use authorization of a vaccine or multiple vaccines. The USAMMA team is collecting COVID-19 vaccine orders from all service branches and submitting them to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. USAMMA will also track vaccine shipments from the vendor to each military site. Tenant Satisfaction Survey now underway WASHINGTON – A link to the Tenant Satisfaction Survey was emailed to more than 110,000 tenants living in privatized, government-owned and government-leased housing across the globe. “This year’s survey will have a focus on customer services and its impact on your quality of life,” said Gen. Ed. Daly, head of Army Materiel Command. “The information residents provide annually continues to guide the Army and privatized housing partners in future improvements to the Army housing portfolio.” In 2019 spouse survey, 70% report good, better finances WASHINGTON – The Defense Department just released the results of the 2019 Survey of Active Duty Spouses. Survey topics covered employment, deployment, reintegration and satisfaction with military life. Family finances and personal health were among the positive trends highlighted in the 2019 ADSS, said Dr. Paul Rosenfeld, director of the Center for Retention and Readiness within the Office of People Analytics. "This encouraging finding mirrors results we have found on a status of forces survey of military members," Rosenfeld said.

Garrison provides support for off-post fire

STUTTGART, Germany – On Thursday, host nation firefighters from the city of Böblingen responded to a blaze at the Zweckverband Restmullheizkraftwerk, a residual waste, heat and power plant, located adjacent to the Panzer Local Training Area. U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart’s Fire Department responded immediately to a request for mutual aid, diverting a truck already on route from Patch to Panzer, to assist the host nation.

USAG Benelux plans, constructs Chièvres Air Base of the future

CHIÈVRES, Belgium – U.S. Army Garrison Benelux Directorate of Public Works personnel are aiming to transform the western Belgian installation into a community of choice for members of the Armed Forces. “People take pride in their workplace, and they take pride in their work,” said Nathan Rowland, director of public works for the garrison. These plans have been in the works since 2018, and the garrison will continue planning out to 10 years.

RIA agreement provides water services, lighting maintenance

ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. – The mayor of Rock Island, Illinois, and Rock Island Arsenal Garrison Commander Col. Todd Allison signed a 10-year Intergovernmental Support Agreement to provide water treatment, plant operations and maintenance, exterior lighting maintenance, traffic and streetlight maintenance and waste water treatment for the installation. The agreement improves efficiency and saves dollars for the arsenal.

USAMMC-K reduces order turnaround for PPE, COVID-19 tests

CAMP CARROLL, South Korea – The team at U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center-Korea is protecting the workforce across the Korean Peninsula by streamlining its ordering practices and making it quicker for customers to receive personal protective equipment and COVID-19 testing supplies. Turnaround times on PPE orders, including masks, gowns and gloves, have been reduced eight-fold since August – from an average of 24 days to just three days.

Operation Holiday Connection brings cheer amidst pandemic
