USPP SUMMER BRIDGE NEWSLETTER USPP Summer Bridge Newsletter June 13, 2016 Issue No.1 Hello! We are happy to share the first newsletter of the 2016 USPP Summer Bridge Program at Northeastern University. Each newsletter will give you a glance into our academic agenda, cultural experiences, and social programming activities with these talented Chinese and Nigerian students during the summer. The students have demonstrated hard work and dedication throughout the year, and we are confident this will be a rich and successful summer for them. The US Pathway Program team continues to provide an academically rigorous pathway paired with exciting cultural activities and workshops that aim to help the students assimilate to the American culture and educational system. We hope the Summer Bridge program provides a firm foundation from which the students can flourish when they reach their destination institution in the fall. Since the students arrived in Boston, they have participated in the USPP Arrival Week Program. The students had their first one- on-one tutoring sessions with our amazing Global Student Ambassadors (GSAs) to help with their reading, writing, and much more. In addition, the first set of students volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank and the YMCA close to Chinatown in Boston. This summer will present students with great opportunities to advance their academic studies and experience fun times in Boston’s beautiful sights and weather.
