We can't prevent bad weather. But we cancertainly help you drive in it.

The V70 All Wheel Drive (AWD) gives you thegrip, power and control you need to conquer ice,snow or rain. The car literally reads the road.

A viscous coupling permanently transfers thedrive to all four wheels. In normal driving on astraight road, most engine power goes to thefront wheels. When accelerating, cornering or ona slippery surface, power is progressivelydistributed to the rear axle. Front wheelspin iscontrolled by Volvo's Traction Control System,TRACS. A limited slip differential acts on therear wheels. The result is that power is alwaysdelivered to the wheels with the most grip.

The AWD includes special chassis settings foroptimum handling. Self-levelling suspension keepsthe car level when carrying loads. A 193 bhppetrol engine with a light pressure turbo ensuresrugged, dependable towing and relaxed,capable cruising.
