VCE VET Scored Assessment Workshops 2016

In March 2016, the VCAA will conduct a series of professional development workshops for teachers/trainers and assessors of scored VCE VET programs.

Workshop contentThe workshops will include:

feedback on the 2015 coursework audit procedure and outcomes information on grouping units of competency/modules and selecting task types activities to assist in designing or revising tasks to assess units of competency/modules and

comply with VCAA task requirements use of VCAA material supporting scored assessment (i.e. frameworks for task types and

planning and mapping documents) advice on using the VCE VET scoring criteria an appraisal of sample tasks with the appropriate state reviewer networking opportunities to share tasks and ideas with other assessors whilst preparing tasks

for 2016.

What to bringAll assessors are asked to bring:

the units of competency/modules in the Units 3 and 4 sequence that you deliver previously developed and draft coursework tasks your assessment plan (if available) program outline (structure, timing and assessment schedule) if available other resources or information you are prepared to share.

Workshop activitiesThe workshop activities are designed for all teachers/trainers and assessors of scored VCE VET programs. Participants will be assigned into groups based on program areas.

New assessorsNew assessors in 2016 should familiarise themselves with the structure and details of the scored assessment process by reading the relevant materials: the relevant assessment guide, sample assessment plans, VET coursework assessment records (VCARs), and scoring criteria sheets. These documents can be found on the VCAA website: <www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Pages/vet/programs/scoredasses.aspx>.

A PowerPoint presentation comprising an overview of scored assessment will be emailed to all new assessors prior to their workshops.

Copies of all VCAA documentation will be available for participants at the workshops.

CostThere is no cost to attend the 2016 VCE VET Scored Assessment Workshops.

Complimentary car parking is available in the Members Car Park via Gate 1 on McPherson Street, Moonee Ponds.

TimesRegistration: 9.00am; program to commence at 9.30am

All workshops will conclude at 3.30 pm.

CateringTea and coffee will be served on arrival and morning tea and a light lunch will be provided.
