HOW TO BUY You have a novel accounting choice when you remanufacture: you can depreciate the vehicle all over again if we sell it back to you; else, the service is a repair expense. Interestingly, since we are a motor vehicle dealer, if you sell us your first vehicle, you can use your second vehicle as a trade-in. This approach saves you sales tax (8.25% for parts & labor versus 6.25% for a vehicle). Then, decide the service level that matches your mission. The service level is a combination of deciding what to include in the remanufacturing operation and what parts to use during the work. To fine tune the service level offering, we can work with you to completely customize the remanufacturing to each vehicle.

New Depreciation Cycle or Not? Check with your CPA, but the IRS has indicated that as long as you are consistent, you can add our service to your cost basis and continue depreciation or you can treat the service as repair and expense the cost. So, you have maximum flexibility in your accounting. If you want to start a new depreciation cycle for your vehicle, sell us the vehicle, we’ll remanufacture it and resell it back to you. Otherwise, treat the expense as a repair charge and write-off the entire cost.

Choose the Service Level • Evaluate the required function and appearance. • Evaluate the need for new and/or used parts. • Where new parts are required, pick OEM or aftermarket solutions

Combine these preferences and you’ve defined the service level for your vehicles.

SERVICE LEVELS Our team works with yours to ensure proper service level definition, transport and coordination. All service levels use our component aging and failure analysis suite. Our goal is to work with your fleet management operations to maximize the return on your vehicle assets. Every vehicle is unique and treated as ‘Engineer To Order’ or ETO. However, we speak in terms of Good-Better-Best to quickly characterize the service level. We use Good-Better-Best to frame the basis of your order.

ENGINEERED TO ORDER – ETO Completely design what is included in the remanufacturing operation. Work with our team to analyze aging and failure data, consider vehicle mission and after-use options.

GOOD The basis for this service level is Inspect and Repair Only As Necessary (IROAN). Non-destructive inspection techniques combined with component service lifetimes determine what is rebuilt, repaired or replaced.

BETTER Beyond IROAN, this service level replaces more components but uses aftermarket repair and replacement parts.

BEST This service level typically addresses specific mission profile needs; for example, special paint schemes or emphasis on particular parts (OEM or aftermarket) required for a specialized use.



LIGHT- & MEDIUM-DUTY BUSES These platforms are found in a wide variety of uses: from ski lodges to nursing facilities, from paratransit to shuttles. You can use our engineering and fixtures to keep these vehicles on the road and extend your capital expense budgets. Typical customers come from these industries:

Re-arched Springs Beef up your suspension – if the service body is heavy or frequently loaded, you may need an extra leaf spring; in any event, our reman typically re-arches your existing springs to restore like-new ride...for a lot less money.

Air Conditioning We can repair, replace, or retrofit as needed.

Alternator, heavy-duty Your bus likely has a heavy electrical demand; we can source special purpose alternators as required.

ALTERNATIVE FUEL

Existing CNG Conversions If you already have a CNG engine conversion, our remanufacturing service will extend the chassis life and allow you to reach the full lifetime rating for your CNG conversion. Typically, the tanks and accessories are rated for 15 to 20 years – these vehicles are great candidates for remanufacturing as the interior, exterior and suspension will not likely last that long.

New Conversions While your vehicle is in for remanufacturing service, consider an alternative fuel engine replacement; the timing is excellent since ‘the hood is up’ anyway. In general, there are two types of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversions: dedicated and bi-fuel. For fleet-type vehicles we should be able to accommodate a conversion for any vehicle in your fleet. However, conversions are custom and must be verified ahead of time. All CNG conversions we offer are US EPA Certified, California Air Resources Board (CARB) Certified or both.

Advertising Wraps While your vehicle is in for remanufacture, we can coordinate the installation of large side panels enable business owners to add Custom Graphics and create an advertising campaign on wheels.

Spray-on Liner Whether it’s a pickup bed, trailer roof or high-use area – a spray-on liner can greatly extend the service life of your vehicle. Ask us about your options for highly-customized applications of a variety of spray-on liners.
