Is a city in northern Italy been known as the “La

Dominante", “Serenissima", “Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Bridges",

and “The City of Light".

I was one of the many people that visited Venice in June 2008 and I wish too have the chance to see it again.Because I was there and saw it’s beauty I chosed to present this city as one of the “places worth visiting”

Most tourists appear during the competition of gondolas on Canale Grande where people

engourage the teams in whose colors are dressed.

The main communication artery of the city is "Grande Canale”, with a length of 4 km. Along the artery

can be find one of the most famous palace“Ca‘s‘ Oro “ - "

House of Gold ".

On Canale Grande,the “artery”with turns in Venice, are only three bridges:

“Academy of Art” - ”Ponte Rialto” and

“Scalzi Bridge”

Thanks too the Bienal Art, the International Film Festival, is one of the main cultural centers of Italy, continuously flooded by waves of tourists.

Thomas Mann's novella "Death in Venice" was transposed on the screen of "Lucchino Visconti", this movie helped the image of the mysterious atmosphere of the “lagoon city”.

Doges PalaceThe picture of Doges

Palace in Piazza San Marco is the most common postcard. Near Doges Palace is a high tower of the XII century and a clock tower of the fifteenth century . In Doges Palace had worked, over time,all the authorities of the Republic.

Ponte Rialto(on Canale Grande)

On this bridge not only

the dissapointed lovers sigh was heard but the unfortunate

prisoners sigh as well,they had too cross the brigde on the road from the Palace to the

prison cell
