    Welcome Beer Lovers!

    On behalf of the Vermont Brewers, welcome to the 20th Anniversary of the Vermont Brewers Festival. We are proud to have been the host of this event for 20 years with support of the City of Burlington, Vermont Tourism and our many volunteers. For a good number in attendance, we are well aware that this has become an annual pilgrimage to the great state of Vermont. We would like to extend a thank you for the continued support of the craft brewing industry. For those for whom this is a first occasion, we are confident that we have assembled an excellent representation of craft brewers from Vermont, as well as from the US and Canada. To mark the 20th Anniversary, a good number of Vermont breweries have partnered with another brewery to brew collaboration beers to be released specifically at this Festival.

    For this years Festival, we lowered the number of tickets sold to reduce crowding. Also, we have expanded the number of breweries attending the festival to 40 for added diversity. While we have taken the time to assemble such a myriad of breweries and styles of beers for all palates to choose from, we politely ask that you also take the time to consume these products responsibly. Please utilize our FREE water provided (as we have had in place for a few years now) and stay hydrated. We have expanded the choices of food vendors to balance out your sampling. Consider that the Vermont Brewers will have added staff at their location(s) around the state, in anticipation of you making a visit before or after your attendance of the Vermont Brewers Festival. So if you did not get to a booth for a specific brand, you can still visit the brewery at its primary location.

    Welcome to the Vermont Brewers Festival The Vermont Brewers Association represents the growing craft brewing movement in our state, and is dedicated to the promotion of some of the finest beers and ales on the planet. It is also our aim to help educate the public on the wonderful world of artisanal brewing and the ever expanding varieties and styles.

    Now with 24 breweries in Vermont, there is a hand-crafted beer to be had in practically every corner of the state. And with the growing success of our bottling breweries, two of which are in the top 25 in the country, more beer enthusiasts from away are finding out what we here have know for years: Vermont makes great beer!

    With regional breweries, micro breweries, nano breweries and brewpubs, Vermont has truly become a destination location for beer lovers. While raising millions in tax revenue and creating hundreds of livable wage jobs, the brewers of Vermont are one of the fastest growing segments of the state economy.

    Considering our mission to promote artisanal beer and educate consumers on the joys of a well made beer crafted with the finest ingredients, we have brought together some of the most interesting brewers in North America to take part in the festival. We have chosen this magical location on the bank of Lake Champlain for the wonderful view of the Adirondack Mountains, and as a great place to enjoy the finest of what life can serve up in a glass. So, relax and Enjoy!

    No entrance for anyone showing signs of intoxication. No exceptions. No refunds. Must be 21 years of Age. Valid proof of ID required. We reserve the right to card at any time during the festival.

    Wristbands must be visible at all times. One 3oz tasting served at one time per wristband (your girlfriend/boyfriend needs

    to get her/his own beer). Brewery staff reserve the right to refuse serving any individual who does not

    cooperate with wrist band identification and ticketing policy.

    15 beer tickets for 3oz tastings included with Admission. Tickets have no cash value. 8% ABV or less = 1 Ticket 8.1% ABV or higher = 2 Tickets Hand full ticket(s) to server when ordering. No half tickets will be accepted. Please make your sampling choice before entering the tasting line so you dont hold

    up the line for others. Additional beer tickets are $2 per ticket at the Vermont Brewers Festival Booth with

    a maximum 5 additional tickets per wristband. No exceptions. Tickets will not be sold the last hour of each session. THIS IS A TASTING FESTIVAL, NOT A DRUNKFEST. If you do not use all your tickets,

    please do not give them to anyone else. By Vermont law the Festival cannot overserve. By sharing extra tickets you are over serving and risking the Festivals license and the future of the Festival. Protect the Festival do not share your extra beer tickets.

    Each beer sample is limited to 3oz. Tastings will only be poured into Official 2012 Souvenir Glass. Glasses must be placed in a bag or pocket or recycled prior to leaving Festival site. This is a plastic-bottle-free event. Free water is available - please use your tasting glass.

    Designated Drivers and Non-drinkers receive a voucher good for ONE Rookies Root Beer, redeemable at the Rookies Root Beer Tent next to the Water Truck (children 5 and under will not receive a voucher).

    Designated Drivers and Non-drinkers are not allowed to taste beer. No exceptions. Anyone found in violation of this policy will be escorted out of the Festival.

    No re-entry. No large bags allowed inside Festival. All bags and backpacks are subject to search. No outside beverages, food or tents permitted. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. No dogs.

    12:00-12:30 p.m. Sensory Training: Developing an effective mindmap while tasting Dario Elia Italian Institute of Food Sensory Analysis (LIMBA) Dario and Slovene collaborator Darja Lesnik were on the judging panel at the 2011 Great British Beer Festival in London and are contributors to the main Italian beer guide (Guida alle birre dItalia - Slow Food).
