Parent LOV Notes

Our Motto: Excellence, Honor and ServiceSchool Mission: To educate and build character in the total child

We are anticipating the GA Milestones assessment on April 15th. It is extremely

important that our students are well rested and most of all prompt and present during testing. This is a reminder about the calculator policy. Please reference the front page of the website for detailed information on calculators. Students may have calculators provided by the parent, but we will not be providing calculators.

Moments of Excellence: This is a moment for students to be highlighted for an outstanding assignment, idea, action or behavior that is noteworthy. The students are referred to me or observed by me and recognized for their excellence. I have decided to begin publishing this in LOV Notes, so this week is our first one! They may not necessarily be advertised weekly but as much as possible.

Congratulations to our students. Click here to see the video.

Georgia Milestones coming up: The dates for the EOG (end of grade) assessment are April 15th – April 21st). It is crucial that your child is present and ready to perform.

Please see the link to assist with preparing for the assessment: http://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Assessment/Pages/Georgia-Milestones-End-of-Grade-Assessment-Guides.aspx

Lovinggood School Foundation Donor Wall: The school foundation is ready to implement the donor wall allowing you to invest in academic excellence for our students by making a donation that will support technology instruction and learning in our school. Please click here for detailed information on applying to be a part of the wall. The flyer displays the picture that will be created outside of the auditorium. Click here.

We are what we think we are! Our students are we think they are. I believe speaking positively to children is one of the most powerful things we can ever do. They are impacted by our every word. One of my practices is to “build” after discipline. In any event that I have to discipline a student, I want them to know that once we know better, we do better. I want them to know that I still believe in them even with their poor choice. I think if we are all cognizant of speaking positively, we would fair out much better with producing young successful citizens.
