    Warhammer 40,000 Campaign Rules

    Armies

Armies are limited to 1500 points, but can be lower.

    Map Rules

The campaign will be fought over a map. All of the tiles will be equally divided at the beginning of

    the campaign between all participants.

Each player has a single action per campaign turn. With this action they may choose one of three

    different choices:

    1)  Attack another player.

    2)  Defend their own territory.

    3)

    Expand into “no man’s land”.

Attack another player: This is as simple as it sounds. In the Grim Dark of the 41st

     millennium, simply

being far away from someone does not limit their ability to attack you. The Emperor has gifted us

with the joy of aerial combat, and as such you can choose any player on any part of the map.

Once you have decided which player to attack, you must then randomly generate which type of

mission you will be playing. Roll a D6:

1-2: Roll again on the Eternal War table.

3-4: Roll again on the Maelstrom of War Table

5-6: Roll again on the Stronghold assault table.

Defend a territory: This is the defensive option. By choosing this option you get to decide which

mission is played after rolling on the above table.

Example: If player A decides to attack player B they would roll on the above table. The result is a

Maelstrom of War game. Because player B decided to defend his territory, he gets to decide which

Maelstrom of War mission is played.

Expand into no man’s land:  Sometimes the campaign map may have tiles that have no one has

claimed either due to an odd number of tiles, or a player having to withdraw from the campaign.

This option can be used to take one of these tiles and claim it as your own. It is also the way in which

new players can enter into the campaign.

    Conquest and Glory!

In order to win the campaign, each player is attempting to wipe the rest of the players off the face of

the planet (or map in this case). After each game, tally up both players’ victory points. The difference

between these victory points is the number of tiles you have successfully stolen from your

    opponent.

Example: Player A has defeated player B. Player A has 12 victory points, and player B has 7 victory

points. The difference between the two is 5 points, as such, Player B loses 5 tiles. Player A can now

claim those 5 tiles with the appropriate markers of his army.

The winner of the campaign is the player who has managed to conquer the largest amount of tiles

    on the map.
