Canadair CL-215 was developed by Bombardier, a aircraft company in Canada.

Then the company got the type certificate, lots of countries like France, Spain, Italy, Yugoslavia and Greece, theirs government bought the plane and use it

1. In an earlier 1960s research at the company, the original concept was for a twin-engined floatplane.

2. In 1962, the CL-215 was designed for Water Bombing.

3. CL-215 had its maiden flight on October 1967. In 1969, the plan had its first delivery. Through five series, CL-215s has ended its production.

4. The 415 first flew on December 6, 1963, and made its first deliveries in November 1994.

The CL-215, based on the Bristol Britannia, was the first design that allowed access by swinging the entire rear fuselage.
