ENCOUNTER AT SHADOW HILLS: God is moving in mighty ways at our Lubbock Campus! We need you to help us grow! We need 25 people from FBC Shallowater to attend our 9:15 Contemporary Service at Encounter. We also need 25 people from FBC Shallowater to attend our 10:30 Traditional Service at Encounter. CINDY HUGHLETT CONCERT: Cindy Hughlett, singer songwriter, will be in concert here at First Baptist Church tonight at 5:00 PM in the Worship Center.

MUSTARD SEED COAT DRIVE: Mustard Seed is collecting new and gently used coats, jackets, and hoodies. The coat drive will end Sunday, November 3rd. Bins are located in the ROC and Worship Center foyer.

TRUNK-N-TREAT AT ENCOUNTER: October 31st from 6:00 8:00. Fun night for kids and grown ups. Each car has a fun game to play for candy and we will have hot dogs and other treats for everyone. How can you help? We need individuals willing to have a game at their vehicle. You can come up with your own or we can help find you a game. We also need LOTS of candy. Please bring any candy donations to the church office. This has always been a great ministry for our neighborhood and we normally see close to 300 people come through. We also need people who just want to help wherever a need arises. Please contact the church office at 832-4511 if you are willing to help with this event.

KIDS DAY OUT: It is time for pre-registration. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Kids’s Day Out program for the 2013-2014 year please contact Gayle Burgett. (548-2127 or gayle @firstshallowater.org) We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will begin on September 3rd.  

KIDZ CHURCH: For children ages Kinder - 4th grade. Your kids are invited to this special service just for them on Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM. We are in need of parents or volunteers who would love to help in teaching kids great and powerful Biblical truths. Please call Julie Batten at 535-7641 if you are interested in helping in any way.

HALLELUJAH NIGHT - Wednesday, October 30th from 6:00-8:00pm: This night is filled with jump houses, carnival games and lots of candy. We will also have a snack bar provided with yummy food! Admission is 1 bag of wrapped candy per child. Please come and help during this great outreach to our community. If you would like to help in a game booth and pass out candy please call Julie Batten at 535-7641. Bring your family, friends and neighbors! You are welcome to wear your Halloween costumes just please NO bloody, inappropriate or scary ones. 1st-4th grade games will be in the ROC / Gym area. Toddlers-Kindergarten games will be in Kidz Church.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SCHEDULE: 6:10 PM Pizza served in the ROC (Please note: the price of the pizza is .50 cents a slice.) 6:30 PM Worship in the Worship Center.

FRIDAY NIGHT HOME GAME TAIL GATE PARTIES: All students are invited to a tail gate party at 5 PM in the high school parking lot at each home game. It will be a great time of fellowship and fun.

JUNIOR/SENIOR MEAL: Tuesday, October 15th at 7PM in the ROC. Please RSVP by Monday, October 14th at 832-4511.

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR HALLELUJAH NIGHT: We need student volunteers for Hallelujah Night. Please sign up in your Connection Group.

ENCORE FIRST MONDAY: Our next Encore First Monday meeting will be November 4th at 10:30AM in the Reach Out Center. Our guest artist will be Peggy Bingham from Meadow. She will be presenting a chalk drawing and speak. Please reserve a place at the meal by buying a meal ticket for $5.00 in your Connection Group or in the Church Office by November 3rd. You may notify the office by calling 832-4511.

   

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

You can make your commitment by coming forward during the song of commitment after the sermon and visiting with one of our pastors or by placing the card in the offering plate and one of our pastors will contact you. You can become a member in the following ways: 1.  By accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and being obedient to the Lord’s command to be Biblically baptized. Biblical baptism is a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is by immersion in order to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. 2.  By letter of recommendation from a church of like faith and order. 3.  By statement that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have placed your faith in Him as Savior and Lord and have been obedient to a Biblical baptism.
