Phoebe was adopted from Angels of Assisi in the autumn of 2010. She was not up for adoption when I went to visit the shelter but was being kept in a crate upstairs. I was told she was being held as she had just been picked up that day and that someone had already completed an application for her. I was able to play with her anyhow, and an employee encouraged me to complete an application for her. Somehow mine got pushed through and as soon as she was available I brought her home.
Here she is enjoying the good life after being found as a stray on Orange Avenue.
When the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed lots of dogs benefit. Here she is playing with the Bernese Mountain Dogs.
And hiking on Buck Mountain with some cute papillions & Carlie.
Some of my former employers let me take her to work with me. In this shot she is in the middle of a circle of young adults who were in a community mental health program. As you can see, she was very good with and for them.
This is where a tree stump used to be. Phoebe tore it apart and dug herself a very interesting hole to root in and jump over, and also just hang out in. It was very entertaining. Click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGZF2Z3pYKQ

Phoebe with my dad, one of her favorite people.
Sometimes I call her “Stop, Drop, and Roll” because she does this spontaniously on walks.
Graduation from basic obediance at PetSmart. I will forever have this photo on my ‘fridge.
She’s also famous. See here: http://dogwork.com/brkf9#.Uw1VorKgMr0.facebook

This is a toad that was coming to my patio every evening. Phoebe was not so sure.
I really cherished all of the times everyone co-habitated peacefully, like here, waiting for me in the kitchen.
With my nephew, Wiliam, Carlie and Josh .
She may have been a little scared of my driving.
Sound asleep.
She loves the snow. Above is a favorite picture from an early morning walk.
She has brought so much beauty, happiness, playfulness, and love to my life over the past years. Her impact is immeasurable and I will be forever filled with gratitude for our time together, even with the pain that was sometimes a part of it. I know she will be at peace living with you and her life with also be filled with love, happiness, and companionship. She will become her best self, and I hope enrich your lives immeasurably too. I’m so glad our paths came together and that she will live the rest of her life in your wonderful home with you as her family.
