Blog Prompt 5
I decided to use my favorite sport, which is baseball, and kairos rhetoric for what
I should say in my post to social media. By saying the following “I hope the Texas
Rangers beat the Blue Jays in this series” I leave my statement to be more likely to be
accepted by others. However, this statement can be changed if it was posted to different
social media’s. And if I happen to reword the statement for the other following two media
sites I would have different outcomes of what people would say.
Here in Figure 1 I posted the following statement “I hope the Texas Rangers beat
the Blue Jays in this series” on the social media site known as Facebook. By saying my
message on Facebook it is most likely to be accepted by everyone while others would just
completely ignore it. Facebook has that that either or option for when someone post there
thoughts, the viewer can either like it or don’t it’s pretty much that simple.

Although here is the part that can change the way my viewers see my message.
By simply changing my statement in Figure 2 with “The Texas Rangers will beat the
Blue Jays in this playoff series” makes it seem very promising. I posted this comment on
the social media site called Tumblr. Since to some people call Tumblr as a secret society
most people don’t publicly talk about what they saw on it. But can be much like Twitter
without the character limitation and constant hash tags on every tweet. The genre for
social had me change my statement into something that would catch the viewer’s
attention. The viewer will receive this comment as strong statement and a very strong
passion for me wanting the Texas Rangers to beat the Toronto Blue Jays.

Lastly, I posted the altered version of my statement to Twitter as shown in Figure
3. Since my statement is simple and short I don’t have to worry much of the previously
mentioned character limitation. If I happen to use a hash tag that was related to the sport
of baseball then a more large group of people can view the tweet and retweet it, favorite
it, reply to it, or the last option nothing. People can receive my message as a strong
conviction of how much I want the Rangers to beat the Blue Jays.
