Important information regarding all releases of WebPDM V5.3 CAD Interface: AccuMark Versions 8.2 and 8.3 are officially supported in WebPDM V5.3. The capability to import a measurement size chart into WebPDM V5.3 from AccuMark V8.3 requires that AccuMark V8.3.1 be installed along with AccuMark HotFix 122008 on each workstation where AccuMark PDS is used to generate (i.e. export) the measurement size chart text file. A comparable HotFix is not available for AccuMark V8.3.0. Customers will need to upgrade to the AccuMark V8.3.1 maintenance release and apply HotFix 122008 to successfully use this capability. AccuMark V8.2.2 does not exhibit this problem and may be used with webPDM V5.3. (PDS SCR 15390) Customization of WebPDM: If you are upgrading to WebPDM 5.3 from a previous version of WebPDM, your customization (reports and webhooks) must be updated. Please review the release notes document for the WebPDM SDK for information on changes that must be made. It is possible that hooks created for the browser application will work appropriately from an earlier version of WebPDM, but should be tested to ensure that all functions are OK. Login to the WebPDM Client: When using Oracle V9i as the database for WebPDM, the Oracle 10g Release 2 client MUST be used, with Gerber suggested patches. For additional information on these patches, please contact WebPDM Customer Support. SQL Validated Auxiliary Fields in the WebPDM Browser: When SQL validated auxiliary fields are created for Folder Types, Image Types, Form Wizards, Design and Cost Specifications, or Multi-Sample Evaluation Specifications, the selection list automatically sorts alphabetically in the Windows Client. Unfortunately, this is not the case when validating fields in the WebPDM Browser. In order to sort a SQL validated field, please add an Order By clause to your SQL statement for each auxiliary field. Pop-Up Blockers: You MUST allow Pop-Ups when using the WebPDM Browser. If a pop-up blocker is enabled, you will be unable to proceed with many functions in the WebPDM browser. The latest updates from Microsoft enable a pop-up blocker for Internet Explorer. Even if you have another pop-up blocker that has been set up to allow pop-ups for WebPDM, you may need to turn off the Microsoft pop-up blocker.

Important information regarding all releases of WebPDM V5.3 CAD Interface:

• AccuMark Versions 8.2 and 8.3 are officially supported in WebPDM V5.3. • The capability to import a measurement size chart into WebPDM V5.3 from

AccuMark V8.3 requires that AccuMark V8.3.1 be installed along with AccuMark HotFix 122008 on each workstation where AccuMark PDS is used to generate (i.e. export) the measurement size chart text file. (PDS SCR 15390)

Customization of WebPDM: • If you are upgrading to WebPDM 5.3 from a previous version of WebPDM, your

customization (reports and webhooks) must be updated. Please review the release notes document for the WebPDM SDK for information on changes that must be made.

• It is possible that hooks created for the browser application will work appropriately from an earlier version of WebPDM, but should be tested to ensure that all functions are OK.

Login to the WebPDM Client: • When using Oracle V9i as the database for WebPDM, the Oracle 10g Release 2

client MUST be used, with Gerber suggested patches. For additional information on these patches, please contact WebPDM Customer Support.

SQL Validated Auxiliary Fields in the WebPDM Browser: • When SQL validated auxiliary fields are created for Folder Types, Image Types,

Form Wizards, Design and Cost Specifications, or Multi-Sample Evaluation Specifications, the selection list automatically sorts alphabetically in the Windows Client. Unfortunately, this is not the case when validating fields in the WebPDM Browser. In order to sort a SQL validated field, please add an Order By clause to your SQL statement for each auxiliary field.

Pop-Up Blockers: • You MUST allow Pop-Ups when using the WebPDM Browser. If a pop-up

blocker is enabled, you will be unable to proceed with many functions in the WebPDM browser. The latest updates from Microsoft enable a pop-up blocker for Internet Explorer. Even if you have another pop-up blocker that has been set up to allow pop-ups for WebPDM, you may need to turn off the Microsoft pop-up blocker.

Design and Cost Specification: • In Form Administration – Show Properties for the Design and Cost Specification,

a new column has been added for showing columns in the browser. This column is labeled “BVisible”. In order to see specific columns in a Design and Cost page in the browser, the system administrator must go into Form Administration in the Windows client, and select the check boxes for the columns that should be available to the user. Without this step, the Design and Cost Specification will show a limited amount of information in the browser.

Refreshing Data on Folder Pages: • When users open a page for the first time in either the Browser or Windows

client, the data on the page reflects the current information in the database. If a user opens a page, and remains on the page without editing it, it is possible that information may have been changed, either through changes to the page, or modification in data table records that are linked to some pages. In the Windows client, the user should close and reopen the page to see the latest information. In the browser, the user need only select the refresh icon on the page (upper

right corner ) to obtain the most current information. This icon may also be used to display images that have been imported through the Image Processor.

Form Administration:

• For customers who have upgraded to a new system version, an enhancement was added to allow a System Administrator to check and uncheck boxes to display and hide Auxiliary fields in the Form Administration client database. However, users will have to uncheck, then re-check all of the boxes in the client in order for the Auxiliary fields to display on Multi-Sample Evaluation page in the Browser.

WebPDM 5.3.2822 30 March 2009

Resolved Issues – WINDOWS & BROWSER:

Folder/Page Printing: • Field 1 and Field 2 were not large enough for some very lengthy string values

that customers may map into these cells for their printouts. Now, all the cells in the title header rows are the same size and do not truncate the values when printed. Resolved. (JJohnson, SCR 19295)

Reports:

• A “type mismatch error” could occur on the Bill of Materials columns 5-7 if the report filter "Primary Dimension" was changed from a “1” to a “2”. Resolved in all SCA reports. (JJohnson, SCR 19355)

• The advanced search function did not properly handle numeric type auxiliary fields when a comma was used as the decimal separator. Resolved. (SPatil, SCR 18911)

Design & Cost Specification:

• On the Product Details tab of the SCA page, editing and renaming existing dimension names by changing only the case (between lower or upper case) did not cause the new name to be saved on the page. The Item Property Data Table was also not allowing the user to change the case of the Dimension name, i.e. from “Red” to “RED”. Resolved. (SNavare, SCR 19121)

Documentation:

• When webPDM V5.3.2817 (or later) is installed only to update the Browser Server, it is necessary to run SQL Runner so that two additional fields are added to the Folder Header table in the database. These additional fields are only used to store data when an FLM Workflow license is present. However, these fields must be present in the database to permit WebPDM V5.3.2817 and later to execute properly. SQL Runner will automatically add these needed fields when it is run. This document is located on the 5.3 CD under Documentation/Databases. (JJacobs, SCR 19124)

New Folder Wizard:

• Key values that have been set in an auxiliary field in a folder were not updating the key ID field when a user tried to model after the folder. Resolved. (JMalik, SCR 19191)

Open Folder/Image Search:

• An out of memory error could occur when users searched for images in folders and data tables without setting up filters for those searches. Resolved. (JLau, SCR 19212)

Page 8: WebPDM Release Notes V5.3

WebPDM 5.3.2818 06 March 2009 Browser Enhancement: Printing:

• The Marker Usage Printouts now have new filters that will display the title “Bundles” in the header on the printouts. (JJohnson, SCR 19072)

Resolved Issues - BROWSER: Printing:

• When multiple models were on a page and the model name and description caused words to wrap on the Pattern Sheet printout, empty rows were not expanding properly on the printout. Resolved. (JJohnson, SCR 18849)

• The “Reorder Row” option on the Marker Usage page was not maintained on the printout. Printouts now report in the correct order. Resolved. (JJohnson, SCR 19137)

• The “Reorder Row” option on the Pattern Sheet page was not maintained on the printout. Printouts now report in the correct order. Resolved. (JJohnson, SCR 19138)

• When a user runs the Quality Assurance page printouts, the Tolerance columns do not display unless that user has administrator rights. Resolved. (JJohnson, SCR 19145)

Design & Cost Specification: • When editing an SCA page, a run-time could occur as a result of trying to add

Item records from the “Search” menu, followed by clicking on the “Edit” button. Resolved. (SNavare, SCR 18810)

• When only the case used in Item descriptions were changed in the Dimensions data table, the SCA page did not reflect the revision. Resolved. (SNavare, SCR 19095)

• On the Product Details tab of the SCA page, renaming existing color names by changing only the case of the name did not update the SCA page. Resolved. (SNavare, SCR 19120)

• In an Oracle system, a run-time could occur as a result of trying to save an SCA page that contained only one or no Product Details. This error did not occur if saving multiple product details. (GUpputuri, SCR 19183)

Page 9: WebPDM Release Notes V5.3

had been turned on for the Text Form even after a user had turned off the rich text option. Resolved. (JLau, SCR 17986)

SCA Bill of Materials:

• When adding a new dimension value to a multi-dimensional item only the dimension values visible in the current page are considered for purposes of creating new details. This issue has been corrected by providing a new function for “Adding New Item Details”. This new function considers all dimension values for the item, not just those that appear in the current page. (GUpputuri, SCR 18589)

Measurement Worksheet:

• A performance improvement has been implemented in the procedure for locking records used by the Measurement worksheet. This improvement improves the robustness of WebPDM during periods of heavy usage. (PDurnin, SCR 18823)

Page 14: WebPDM Release Notes V5.3

WebPDM 5.3.2814 Resolved Issues (cont) - BROWSER: Login:

• Under some limited conditions, the list of currently logged in users may include some who have logged out. This may occur, for example, if a user begins the login process and uses the “Back” button to navigate back to the login page while waiting for the login operation to complete. The status of this user will be corrected once the user successfully logs into WebPDM. (JLau, SCR 18835)

SCA Bill of Materials:

• The column header and auxiliary field data did not word-wrap when in edit mode on the BOM tab of the SCA form. Resolved. (SSateesh, SCR 18879)

WebPDM 5.3.2808 13 October 2008 NOTE: A slight format change has been instituted in this version of the release notes. Now, Browser and Windows modifications will be placed in 2 separate sections. Print issues that affect both the Browser and the Windows clients will be listed in the Browser section of the document.

Resolved Issues – BROWSER: Batch Functions:

• A Type Mismatch error occurred when using the Copy Folder function to change the season of folders through the Folder Queue. This has been fixed. (KPunia, SCR 18470)

• When copying folders through the Copy Folder function, only the Folder Summary was copied. Now, all selected pages are copied. (JMalik, SCR 18151)

Design & Cost/Item Property Data Table:

• When adding new SCA Item codes and selecting an Auxiliary Field with an ASP attached to the Aux Field, WebPDM did not allow that function to work for that Item Detail; resolved by removing message that caused the code to stop and return to the previous ASP page. (JJohnson, SCR 18353)

• Resolved upgrade problem with Auxiliary field data missing by adding in a SQL script. (MGurav, SCR 18239)

• Resolved an issue where saving the Design and Cost page hung when populating Auxiliary field data from the SCA page to the Folder Summary. (LPeddi, SCR 18215)

• If 2 Design and Cost pages were edited at the same time, and the user saved one page, and then saved the second page, the Save in Process message displayed as it should. However, once the first page completed saving, it was not possible to save the second page. This has been fixed. (VDudhal, SCR 18484)

• When SQL Validated auxiliary fields brought back information containing an ampersand (&), the ampersand was stripped from the display of the value in the field. This has been fixed. (MGurav, SCR 18434)

• A Unique Constraint violation could occur when creating a new item on the Design and Cost page, with the same item code, owner and season as an existing item. Now, a message displays indicating that the item code is a duplicate, rather than an error. (MGurav, SCR 18246)

• In some cases, users were not able to rename dimension details, such as colors in the Product Item Detail tab of the Design and Cost page. This occurred when the users deleted details from the grid, and added details to the list box. This has been fixed. (MGurav, SCR 18384)

Page 20: WebPDM Release Notes V5.3

WebPDM 5.3.2808 Event Log on Browser Server:

• When an error is recorded in the Event log on the browser server, the message would split into multiple log entries. Now, if the message is very large, it will be limited to 5 entries in the event log, and the last entry will indicate that the message has been truncated. (PDurnin, SCR 18363)

Folder/Image Properties: • When modeling a folder that had empty auxiliary fields (which were validated by

a SQL query which should return no data when initially creating the folder), the auxiliary fields would be populated with invalid data. This has been fixed. (VDudhal, SCR 18237)

Folder/Page Printing:

• Corrected an issue where the Item Detail comments printed out instead of the Item Properties comments from the SCA Page. (JJohnson, SCR 18247)

• Schedule Due Dates did not print on the Multi-Sample Evaluation printouts; resolved by correcting code in Form Administration. (JJohnson, SCR 18226)

• Changes made to correct the extra blank page printout on the Multi-Sample Evaluation worksheet. (JMalik, SCR 17479)

• The cover page no longer printed when the option was set to print with folders. (PDurnin, SCR 18409)

Folder Summary:

• An Out of Memory error could occur when many users were logged on to the browser, when the Folder Summary was opened. This was due to loading of validation data for auxiliary fields when the Folder Summary is opened. The loading of validation data now occurs when the user edits the Folder Summary, so that the load is more distributed. (JLau, SCR 18286)

History Notes:

• SCA Item History Notes format was corrected to show as Item “XXX” – (Hierarchy of Item\ Description of Item). This was changed to match the history note generated in the Windows client. (JJohnson, SCR 18342)

• When the user changed Folder Types, the history note did not display the correct page, and did not indicate what had been done. Now, the history note provides better information, and is associated with the Folder Summary. (VDudhal, SCR 18429)

Hooks to External DLLs:

• Problem occurred when trying to launch an external DLL from a data table that contained Auxiliary fields - resolved by assigning an asp page to the url. (JMalik, SCR 18234)

Page 21: WebPDM Release Notes V5.3

WebPDM 5.3.2808 Hooks to External DLLs:

• Error messages occurred when modeling a folder containing Auxiliary fields if a StyleID Generator hook was used to name the folder. (SNavare, SCR 16791, 18459)

• If a user edited a Design and Cost page, saved the page, and then tried to edit it again, the page was left locked. This occurred because of a timing issue with an After Page Save Hook. The timing has been improved so the lock will get released. (PDurnin, SCR 18430)

Image Functions: • Folder Summaries that contained thousands of images would time out when a

user tried to open the page. Now, only the first 100 images are displayed. NOTE: The user may see all images in the folder by performing a Search for images. (PDurnin, SCR 18232)

Login:

• Sometimes, users would receive a message that the “Page cannot be displayed” when logging into WebPDM. Refreshing the page opened the start page. This has now been fixed, so that the Start Page opens appropriately. (JLau, SCR 18238)

Main Menu Functions:

• A Folder Summary page name will change to the new Folder Type name once it is changed, no matter whether the user has renamed the Page name or old Folder Type or not. (PRajpurohit, SCR 18204)

• The “Page/Go to Page” menu item has been removed when a user clicks Save on any page. When the user selected the “Go to Page” when a page was being saved, it was not possible to save the next page that was edited, because a Save process is in Session message was received. Going to another page caused the Save in Session flag to remain checked. (VDudhal, SCR 18265, 18395)

Measurement Specification:

• Resolved “Invalid use of null” error that occurred when trying to change worksheet information on the worksheet. (VDudhal, SCR 18241)

• If a “Page is Locked” message occurred on the Measurement Specification or the Multi-Sample Evaluation, the lock was not cleared properly upon logout. Now, the code that checks for locked pages correctly clears locks from these pages(PDurnin, SCR 18269)

WebPDM 5.3.2808 Multi-Sample Evaluation Worksheet:

• When the Change Worksheet Information function was executed on the Measurement Worksheet, Multi-Sample Evaluation pages associated with the Measurement Specification did not display a message that the page no longer matches the parent, if there were 2 or more samples on the page. Because of this, users could revise measurements, but could not post them to the Measurement Worksheet. Now, a message warns the user that the pages do not match, and the “Revised” column is disabled. (MGurav, SCR 18385)

New Folder Wizard: • A Block Type could not be found for a non-existent page; corrected special

characters in the Style name to avoid an error when modeling a folder. (SNavare, SCR 18330, 18295)

• A “Bad Request” error occurred when selecting the development stage, hierarchy and season for a folder with certain special characters in the folder name ({ }). This has been fixed. (SAmbler, SCR 18380)

• When a single quote (‘) was used in a folder name, the window that allows the selection of the development stage, hierarchy and season did not display properly. This is corrected. (SNavare, SCR 18275)

• The model folder function would fail when using a Style Id generator to create the folder name – this has been fixed. (SNavare, SCR 16791)

POM Data Table:

• A time out error could occur when opening the size range node of the POM Data Table. The query to open this node has been optimized to improve performance. (LPeddi, SCR 18347)

Printing:

• The Data Dynamics library file was replaced to resolve an error that occurred in the Print Manager when printing reports created in .NET Active Reports. (PDurnin, SCR 17527, 18296)

Publish Documents:

• When published documents were downloaded, the file extension for the document was not displayed. This is fixed. (SNavare, SCR 18259)

Reports:

• Corrected Filters to allow for dates or no dates when users selected a date range. A “Type Mismatch” error would occur when the user would select a single date instead of a range of dates. (JJohnson, SCR 18341)

• Some report filters would not work properly when the database for WebPDM is Oracle. This has been fixed. (PDurnin, SCR 18278)

WebPDM 5.3.2808 Reports:

• Data Table reports that used currency rates did not get the correct currency rate value, when it had been changed. This is corrected. (SNavare, SCR 17583)

WebBox:

• Some documents in a zip file did not print from the WebBox. The problem was resolved by adding a time-out value that defaults to 15 seconds to print out the document. This correction also helps to ensure that the printouts print in the correct order. (PDurnin, SCR 18376)

• When downloading multiple documents from the Published Documents Search Results dialog, an Error 5 – Invalid Procedure call occurred. This is fixed. (PDurnin, SCR 18368)

Enhancements – BROWSER: Server-side Functions:

• Enhancement added to the ADO database connection so it will now record all query and stored procedure execution that takes more than a set amount of time to a log file. The default is 300 seconds, and can be set by a registry flag to a different threshold. The program will record these times to a CSV file that can be opened in MS Excel for processing. (PDurnin, SCR 18370)

Resolved Issues – WINDOWS: Form Administration:

• Resolved a problem with Product and Material Items and Product and Material Item Details not displaying existing Auxiliary fields in the Design & Cost Page. (SAmbler, SCR 18326)

Marker Usage:

• When importing long markers into the Marker Usage form, the image did not display correctly. These now display appropriately. (SAmbler, SCR 13067)

Open Folder/Image Search:

• Users who were not super-administrators could not search for images in folders. This has been fixed. (AWinn, SCR 18174)
