The basic concept of this project is from the thinking of social and urban develop-ment. As the development of urban, we have gave too much pressure to the “city”, such as population, pollution,etc. Our city become crowded and dirty. Our city is like a spring, it is pushed down by human hardly.

DESIGN THEME:URBAN PRESSURE

The entire hotel is like a “micro city”. Each resi-dent in the hotel is like different component of the city.The basic shape of the building is based on the spring.Curtain wall been largely, used, to maximise intake of sunlight, also to reduce the “weight” of the build-ing.

ZARAGOZABRIDGE PAVILIONZAHA HADID

This interactive exhibition structure with a focus on water and sustainability, themes of Expo 2008 in Zaragoza, has a total floor area of 6415 square meters, and an exhibition area of 3915 square meters. The pedestrian bridge that is part of the scheme occupies a further 2500 square meters. The pavilion is organized around four main objects or pods that perform both as structural elements and as spatial enclosures. Each diamond-shaped pod corresponds to a specific ex-hibition area. Because loads are distrib-uted between the pods rather than being borne by a central element, the resulting load-bearing members can be smaller.

HAYDAR ALIYEVCULTURAL CENTER

ZAHA HADID

Dedicated to the former President of Azerbaijan who died in 2003, this Cultural Center is located close to the center of Baku. It is in-tended to house a conference hall with three auditoriums, a library, and a museum.

The project includes an outdoor plaza on to which the auditoriums open. Zaha Hadid has imagined this project as a folded, fluid con-tinuity with its topography. The landscape emerges from the ground to merge with the building.
