Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County Invites Community to Celebrate the Holidays with Gift Boutique, Children’s Concert and Food Drive

Event Scheduled for Sunday, November 24

SOUTH RIVER, NJ --Celebrate all the upcoming holidays by shopping, enjoying children’s activities and helping those less fortunate by donating food and assembling breakfast baskets for local food pantries. As part of the Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County’s annual Super Sunday, the community is invited to a Holiday Gift Boutique with dozens of vendors, events to engage the young and young at heart, as well as help our neighbors in need. The Holiday Boutique will be held on Sunday, November 24, noon to 5 pm, at Trayes Hall in the Douglass College Center, 100 George Street, New Brunswick. Admission is free and on-site parking is available. Shoppers can visit more than three dozen local vendors and find jewelry, home décor, fashion accessories, children’s toys, books, and games, and more. Children of all ages can enjoy a concert by Matty Roxx and a performance by Jonah the Juggler. Community members are also invited to donate non-perishable breakfast items to be packaged and distributed to local food pantries. “The holidays are always a critical time for food donations,” said Ruth Bash, President of Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy Division, who is coordinating the food drive. “We are hopeful the community will come together and help our neighbors in need as they have always done.” Furthermore, Super Sunday is the Federation's largest fundraising event of the year. More than 100 individuals and families call on thousands of Middlesex County residents to raise money for the community's most vulnerable. Calls begin at 9 am and continue until 1 pm. "Super Sunday is a day when we ask the members of our community to answer the call to help those in need," said Seth S. Gross, Federation President. “We hope to raise hundreds of the thousands of dollars to meet the most critical needs in our community, and at the same time engage and educate people about the power of Federation.” For more information, please call 732-588-1800 or visit www.JewishMiddlesex.org.

News from Yeshiva at the Jersey Shore

Make a Donation of $10 or more

and receive a $10 credit from American Express!

Dear Friends, November 30, 2013 is a big day for Yeshiva at the Jersey Shore. It's the fourth annual Small Business Saturday, when our friends and families come and make donations to our Yeshiva. YJS is participating in Small Business Saturday sponsored by American Express. Any American Express cardholder who registers their card with American Express between Sunday, November 24, 2013 and Saturday, November 30, 2013, and spends $10 or more will receive a $10 statement credit on their account. This means that you can donate $20 to YJS at a cost of only $10. Or, you can make a $10 donation that will cost you absolutely nothing! All it takes is donating $10 or more with each AMEX card, so you may enjoy your $10 one-time credit for EACH registered AMEX card. Please visit www.yatjs.org/amex-small-business-saturday-sign-up/ to register your card and make a donation. We are also happy to take care of registering your card for you. If you prefer to do it over the phone, you may call the school office at 732-663-2929 with your credit card information and the amount you want to donate. The time frame for making a donation is anytime from November 24 - November 30. You can do this with all of your AMEX cards. Spouses who both have an AMEX card on the same account can each register a card. This is a one-time-per-card credit to your AMEX account that will appear on your next billing statement. There is a very small window of opportunity, because there is a maximum number of credits they will approve, so please act quickly. Please tell all your relatives and friends of this special one-time offer - and help support YJS today! Thank you in advance for your support, Rabbi Elie Tuchman, Ed.D. Head of School
