Techno Tip How often should my antivirus

software update and scan?

It’s vital to keep your comput-

er’s protection up to date, other-

wise newer threats may be able

to slip past your defences. Most

security software automatically

checks for updates at least

once a day, although it’s worth

investigating your program’s

settings to make sure this is the

case.

Your security software gives

real-time protection against

threats as they emerge, but regu-

lar system scans are important,

too. Most security suites are

configured to perform an auto-

matic scan once a week,

often offering the choice of a

‘quick’, ‘deep’ or ‘full’ scan.

It’s recommend that you carry

out a full scan once a week. You

can do a manual quick scan any

time you choose if your

computer is exhibiting suspi-

cious behaviour.

New Year New Year comes but once a year

Hopefully bringing you good cheer,

New things to do and places to go

Or just sitting, by the fires glow.

Waiting for the seasons to change

Nights get lighter and brighter again

Check off that list of promises made

And see for yourself if you obeyed.

Think of holidays, days in the sun

Plan ahead, make sure you have fun

Or go for a ramble if that’s for you

Take it all in your stride excuse the

pun!

Have a party or two while you can

Showing off your even sun tan

Because soon it’ll be back indoors

once again

Keeping dry from that pesky rain.

I hope the New Year brings to you

All the things that you wished for

and hoped you could do.

Good tidings to all and a

HAPPY NEW YEAR

But Pursue Only Those That Capture Your Heart.

Obituary

I t is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we have to announce that Mr John Branagan passed away on Sunday 15th October

2017 aged 85 years.

John supported our Group activities when able or would always sit

on the side line and support others (especially Pat). John was a well

known and respected member of our Group and his sense of humour

was inspiring to others and always made us laugh.

He will be sorely missed by Pat, and their friends and family alike.

We send our sincerest condolences to them all and offer any support

we can give. We also wish them all the very best for the future.

with the odd garden party thrown in were her favourites, as well as

John Denver songs.

She will be sadly missed by her friends and family. We send our

sincerest condolences to them all and offer any support we can give.

We also wish them all the very best for the future.

runners up. I would like to thank all those that supported the bowls throughout

the season (good and bad weather) and look forward to seeing you all next sea-
