Service Configuration & Activation (SCA)The Third Network Vision and Strategy is built upon Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO).

MEF SCA API is an implementation of the PRESTO interface• SCA defines the network

management reference point needed to manage the network infrastructure, including network view management functions.

Page 33: Welcome to Atlanta! 2015 MEF Q4 Members Meeting. Kevin Vachon MEF COO Housekeeping Items

33

LSO and MEF SCA API In Action• GEN15 LSO Hackathon will be used to accelerate the

development of LSO APIs, SDN controller plugins and LSO orchestration solutions– Multiple teams will be participating in various aspects of the project– MEF-led team will demonstrate the CfC #2 implementation of the MEF SCA API and

use results of the Hackathon as feedback into the implementation and definition of MEF SCA API.

– The LSO Hackathon will facilitate discussion, collaboration and the development of ideas, sample code and solutions that can be used through the Open Source community for the benefit of service providers and technology vendors

Carrier Ethernet Performance Reporting Framework

Objective: Define a Carrier Ethernet Service Performance Reporting Framework in which Carrier Ethernet Network (CEN) Operators provide their customers with access to KPI performance data and statistics through a standardized interface.

Accomplishments• Framework specification passed Letter

Ballot vote and is awaiting final approval by the Board of Directors

• Specification includes use cases, business process flow, information model and an example RESTful API with JSON payloads

Next Steps: • Incorporate the information

model into the Common Information Model (CIM)

Page 35: Welcome to Atlanta! 2015 MEF Q4 Members Meeting. Kevin Vachon MEF COO Housekeeping Items

35

Phase 2 will develop a ordering approach to efficiently support MEF services for use by all carriers globally. This activity is also a joint project with ATIS OBF.

Ethernet Ordering

Phase 1 completed earlier this year – joint project with ATIS OBF to update ASR guidelines to fully support MEF specifications. ASOG 50 launched March 2015.

• Miguel Alvarez (MEF/CableLabs) and Letty Walker (ATIS/CenturyLink) will be leading the phase 2 effort.

• UML Model for EVPL Service currently being developed
