Arrival to School• Doors do not open until 7:30.• Families with both elementary and high school students are encouraged to

drop off in the overlap time between 7:30 and 8:00. If you have special circumstances requiring drop off before 7:30, please contact high school administration.

• Students who choose to have breakfast at Beechwood will eat and remain in the Commons between 7:30 and 8:00.

• Students who are not eating breakfast at Beechwood will go to the varsity gym from 7:30 to 8:00.

• At 8:00, students will be allowed to go to their lockers/classrooms.

• Warning bells ring at 8:10 am.

• 1st Period starts at 8:15 am.• Announcements will be read over the PA system. • Teachers will take attendance. • Each class lasts approximately 52 minutes. (7 period day)

● Students will go to lunch at an assigned time with their 5th period classes.

● Students who pack will go directly to their lunch seats.

● Students who purchase will be in the assigned cafeteria line and once through the line, will go to their lunch seats.

● Lunch seats will not be assigned but a space will be between students when space is available.

● When it is time to go back to class, the 5th period teacher’s name will be called.

● Students are then responsible for throwing away all trash and cleaning their lunch spot.

● Students will then report directly back to 5th period.

Summer Assignments & Supplies

• Summer Assignments are due on the first day of school!

• Please bring supplies on the first day of school.

• 7th - 11th grade students will have lockers. If any senior wants a locker, please contact the front office.

Schedules and Course Fees• Each student should have received a schedule. If you are unable to

see your schedule in Infinite Campus, please see the high school office for a hard copy of your schedule.

• Changes to schedules can occur during the first week of school; however, some classes may be full and changes may not be possible.

• Please contact your counselor for any scheduling changes or issues.

• Fees• Consumable & Textbook Fees – vary from class to class

• You will get an email when fees are posted towards the end of August.

• Device Fees - $75 fee for the year• All fees can be paid via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.• Please direct any fee questions to Natalie Whalen.

Forms

2021 – 2022 Student Parent Handbooks: Please review these electronically here. Your child will receive a pink handbook signature paper on the first day of school to bring home and get signed – It’s due back Aug 20th to their 1st period teacher.

Device Agreement - will be on the back of the pink handbook paper. Print, Sign, and Return by August 20th.

Acceptable Use Policy - Print, Sign, and Return by August 20th to the front office.

Student-Parent Handbook & Code of ConductAbsence• ALL emails for parent/doctor absence notes should be directed to

[email protected] • An email can suffice as the parent note unless you later have a doctor’s note.• A phone call cannot serve as an official parent notice. You will need to email or send a note upon the student’s return to make the absence excused.

• Students are allowed 7 EXCUSED total absence notes PER YEAR from a parent. • Students do not have a cap on Doctor notes.

Tardy• Bring a note from a parent or guardian for the tardy to be excused.• Tardy Parent Notes: 4 excused periods = 1 full day parent note excused• Leaving Early Notes: 4 excused periods = 1 full parent note excused

• The eighth (8th) and any subsequent EVENTS (partial day, half day, or whole day) during the same school year shall be considered unexcused unless the school receives a doctor’s note within 48 hours of the absence.

Dress Code• A copy of the dress code is in the Student-Parent Handbook.

Reminder: You will need to turn in the Handbook/Code of Conduct acknowledgement form by August 20th to your first period teacher.
