SOCIAL STUDIES GRADESStudents can earn points from the

following assignments: Homework Classwork Quizzes Tests Projects

HOMEWORK

Homework can be expected 2-3 times a week

Students should be reviewing concepts discussed in class 10-15 minutes per night

Late homework-half credit More than 1 day late-no credit

SOCIAL STUDIES OVERVIEW Social Studies classes in 6th grade

are not leveled. We begin the year with the 5 Themes

of Geography. This is followed by the study of

ancient civilizations incorporating the 5 Themes.

Curriculum is based on state standards.

The textbook is online and students will be given access information at a later date.

ROTATION OF SOCIAL STUDIES Beginning 2nd marking period, students

will be rotating to different teachers on our team for mini lessons on ancient cultures.

More information about this rotation will be coming home in the near future.
