Off-campus housing is available in any of the 25-plus apartment complexes located in West Des Moines. West Campus has an active Drama Club. Members have enjoyed club trips to the Stoner Theatre and the Des Moines Playhouse to name just a few of their activities. New to West Campus is the Fellowship Club. This organization provides students a way to interact with others of the Christian faith on a weekly basis. Students also can enjoy sitting on the benches, watching wildlife that visit our campus, or even fishing in the lake in the front of the campus. New to the academic setting, the West Campus Concierge provides time-saving personal assistance to students, business and community members, and campus faculty and staff. school.West Campus offers Arts and Science and technical

education two-year degrees. DMACC West Campus Technology

programs and certificates will equip you with the technology

and knowledge you will need to succeed in the ever-changing

workplace while our Arts and Science (AA and AS) degrees

prepare you for transfer to the four-year institution of your choice.

where new and emerging technologies are tested and taught

side-by-side and integrated into the academic path you choose.

West Campus ProgramsLIBERAL ARTS

Students planning on transferring to a four-year college or

university may complete their freshman and sophomore core

requirements at West Campus. West Campus is a “full-service”

DMACC campus that offers many Liberal Arts courses such as

English, Speech, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Psychology,

Sociology and Foreign Language, just to name a few. These

courses are applicable for the Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate

in Science (AS) degree and are transferable to most four-year

institutions. Classes may be taken during the day, evenings, in our

“Weekend College” and through many of our other creative class

offerings such as our five-week, “One Class at a Time” sessions.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The Business Administration program offers the student a

number of career and educational opportunities. The program

provides a curriculum that satisfies most freshman and

sophomore Business Administration requirements of most

four-year colleges. West Campus offers two options (College

Transfer and General Business) for your Business Administration

degree. Business Administration is offered full-time or part-time.

BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The Business Information Systems (BIS) program prepares you

for programming careers in a client/server environment or in

the areas of electronic commerce or database applications

related to PC programming and related applications.

Do you want to learn to build and design modern communication

networks? Modern telecommunication networks carry our voice,

video and data traffic across town and across the world! An

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Telecommunica-

tions Technology will prepare you to work and configure modern,

high-tech networks. From training in Wi-Fi, Voice and Data switching,

Laser Fiber Optics, Voice-over IP (VoIP) and many more. Telecom-

munications Technology is a fall start, full-time day program.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS CERTIFICATE

This fast-track “certificate only” program prepares students

to hit the workforce after nine months of training. The course

work is focused on careers involving outside telecommunication

jobs and includes topics such as residential communication

repair and installation. Working aloft and pole climbing are

also required for the students in this certificate program. This

is a two-semester, fall start day program. Applications need

to be made for the Telecommunications Technology program.
