FROM THE PRESIDENTS PEN……

Greetings to you all.

Well the big move is about to happen. The final event in the Rust Ave clubrooms will be last orders tomorrow, Saturday 25th of June. The entertainment will start at 4:00pm with ‘Just Bob’ playing through until 6:00pm; ‘Jack Tane’ will come on at 7:00pm and play through till closing time. I hope to see you all here enjoying our Rust Ave send-off.

The RSA will be closed for the following week, to enable the Rust Ave building to be cleared and everything moved to Hannah Street. Anyone able to assist in the moving will be most welcome.

On 1st August at 4:00 pm (1600 hrs) we will have last post, recital of the ode and the final lowering of the flag not 1:00pm (1300hrs) as previously advised. The withdrawal from the Rust Ave RSA and the opening of our new premises will take place on Sunday the 2nd of August. Both ceremonies are medal occasions.

It has been a long and taxing process to get us to this point but we have finally arrived. All going well we will be up and running and open for business from Monday the 3rd of August. At this stage we do not have any planned entertainment for Friday the 7th however the following weekend we will have entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. See ‘What’s Coming Up’ for the details. Remember ‘Life can only be understood looking backwards; but must be lived forwards’. Darts ‘Bull’etin Club Nights – Wednesday Format – Drawn Pairs Names in by 7:15pm Play Starts 7:30pm

We threw our last darts in these clubrooms and raised a few glasses in farewell Wednesday night just gone. It was a poignant moment for some of us who have been members here for many years. Club nights will resume in the first of August. Coming up in August we have the following: Men’s Pairs August 15th Mixed Pairs August 22nd

Rifle Club Hot ‘Shot’s’ Club Nights – Tuesday Venue - Whareora Hall Start Time 7pm Our next couple of club nights will be the 28th July and the 4th of August at the Whareora Hall from 7:00pm. Pool Table for Sale As there is not enough space for 3 pool tables in the new building the RSA are selling one of the tables by silent auction. All bids to be submitted to the office in a sealed envelope with your name & contact details.
