It really is what American democracy is supposed to be.” Wynton Marsalis Welcome and Introductions Mary Campbell Zopf, Executive Director What Can Jazz Teach Us—Seton Hawkins, Director of Public Programs and Education, Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) Seton Hawkins and JALC artists will engage us in an interactive team-building session that illustrates how jazz can help us find the collaborative rhythm in our lives and our schools. Through jazz, let’s explore how all of us bring unique contributions to a group effort and share a common vision and commitment. Loft Theatre, 3 rd floor For Muse teachers and high school student captains 1 11:30-12:30 p.m. LUNCH Loft Lobby, 3 rd floor 12:45-1:45 Out of Many, One—Eli Yamin, Camille Thurman, Dara N. Byrne will reveal how jazz reflects the founding beliefs of our country and the ways in which those ideals can come alive in your classroom through jazz. Rehearsal Space, 4 th floor Muse teachers and captains will work together. 1 Muse Captains are middle- or high-school students who play leadership roles in the schools’ Muse club.
