Hey Division 2! I hope you all are having an amazing summer! So, as you probably already know, September is approaching, and it’s approaching quickly. That means school, classes, and KEY CLUB MEETINGS! Sure this time of year gets pretty hectic, but hopefully by the time you are done reading this newsletter you’ll have a better sense of how to get your club up and running for the new school year. Though, I must say, I am strongly encouraging you to meet up with your club and hold a meeting a week or two before school begins, that way you and the other club officers have an action plan on how to get your members excited about service! -Dianna Torres

Lt. Governor of Division 11 Farwa Shakeel and me doing some service at the K-Family Picnic.

ABOUT THE SONG

Say what you wanna say /

And let the words fall out /

Honestly, I wanna see you

be brave.” As the new school year approaches, don’t be afraid to be you. The moment you forget about trying to fit “in” will be the moment you will be having the most fun. So say what’s on your mind. Have a good service project idea? Say it. Want to volunteer for something? Don’t be shy. Be Brave! Page 3

Your Guide To Getting Your Club Up And Running For

The New School Year

Page 7: What's New in Division 2, Issue 4

Bring A Friend To Key Club! Friendship is one of the best ways to recruit members. The quickest way to gain members is simply by letting Key Clubbers share their unique experiences with their friends and acquaintances it is also the most efficient way to show prospects what Key Club is all about. Just simply bring prospects to a meeting or project, and you most likely have a new member!

A FUN way to invite a friend is to “club” them!

SOME HELPFUL HINTS: •

• ―

You can find the “You’ve been clubbed” cards on page 8 here.

Have an Ice Cream Party! Food is the glue that holds communities together. It is also the glue that can help your club gain new members. In general, people like food. So why not advertise an ice cream party? If you throw it, they will come. So when they do come, just sit them down with their bowl of ice cream, and hold an information meeting! This event gives you the chance to have their full attention, so take advantage of it, and show them what Key Club is all about!

Some FUN tips!

All About Dues

International Dues For international, you paid $6.50, this year at the Key Club

International, a new bylaw was passed that raised dues

to $7.00. The extra 50 cents was added to help rid of a

deficit. It also helps fund the international convention,

along with helping to create the Key Club products you

enjoy.

District Dues For District of New Jersey, you pay a

total of $12.50. This helps to fund the

District Convention and other Key

Club products.

Club Dues For your club, the amount you pay varies

by each club. This money is money that

helps fund all your events that your club

holds. It may also go toward personal club

shirts, or other club investments.

At the beginning of every service year, to join Key Club, you need to pay money. The money you pay is referred to as Dues, and it goes forth to help fund plenty of the fun activities and items that you enjoy as Key Clubbers.

Fall Regional Training

Conferences

What are they?

Regional Training Conferences is an event that is held to help new club officers understand their new positions and more about Key Club. This is an

event that is mandatory for every officer. If you attended an RTC in the spring, I highly suggest that you attend once

again in the fall for more experience! As for general

members, the RTC is a fabulous way to learn more about Key

Club, and how we work!

This year, the southern fall

Regional Training conferences will

be held once again within

Division 2! I am proud to say that Egg Harbor Twp.

High School will be hosting the RTC’s

on September 14,2014.

What is it?

Fall Rally is a huge pep rally held by the NJ

District at Six Flags Great Adventure, to get

members excited for the new school year, and

all the service to come with. At Fall Rally, you

can meet other members from all over New

Jersey.

Fall Rally this year will be held on October 12th.

Early registration for Fall Rally is due September

24th, to attend registration is $37. Please keep in

mind, your club may want to bus you and

others, so it may be a little bit more. It varies by

club.

Interested in going to Fall Rally? I suggest to start

thinking about this now. Once school starts, Fall

Rally approaches quickly, so think about

fundraising now and what you and your club

can do to go!
