Dear Corporate Sponsor:

The WDS would like to take this opportunity to thank all our corporate sponsors for their generosity and enthusiasm over the past years. With your assistance the WDS has grown close to 1,400 members and has allowed us to produce many successful educational and career

enhancing programs and events. All of these programs have helped women in dermatology "realize and fulfill their greatest potential" which is part of our mission statement.

Please take a look at our new 2015-16 Sponsorship Opportunities brochure. The WDS has many programs, projects and events available for support. All sponsors will be recognized in the WDS Newsletter, on the WDS website and at the WDS Event/Program. We are also happy to work with individual contributors to devise appropriate sponsorship packages.

Thank you again for your continued support and in advance for future consideration. It is with the help of corporate support that the Women's Dermatologic Society's programs and events will continue to flourish. Sincerely,

Kathleen Hectorne, MD WDS President (2015-16)

Erin Gilbert, MD, PhD Fundraising Committee,

Chair (2013-16)

Media Day Media Day proudly features dermatologist pairings, offering seasoned experts partnered with up-and-coming physicians, serving up a perfect combination that captures the mentoring spirit of the Women’s Dermatologic Society. Media Day is composed of 20 WDS members - ten teams of 2 - and each team is responsible for a particular topic related to the field of dermatology. Editors from top women’s magazines and news outlets schedule appointments to meet with the various WDS teams, depending on their topic needs. These meetings can take place either deskside in a conference room, or over coffee at a local café. Next year’s fresh format will include inviting editors to either an intimate luncheon or cocktail hour, where several WDS members will present on different topics and host a Q&A session. 2015’s Media Day will have more of a media press conference feel.

WDS promotes Sun Safety through “Play Safe in the Sun”, a broad-based national campaign. Through a wide range of outreaches nationwide, “Play Safe in the Sun” offers free skin cancer screenings,

educational materials and literature, and complimentary samples of sunscreen. Each outreach is led by local WDS dermatologists, and the campaign is designed to help spread awareness of skin cancer prevention and proper skin health. Since the initiative began in 2004, 3 additional community outreach programs have been established: Coast-2-Coast, Dove Movement for Self-Esteem, and TOPS (time out, protect your skin) Program.

Coast-2-Coast Program: This member-driven program extends past the summer months to provide tools for local sun safety and skin cancer prevention activities. Through this initiative, members are encouraged and equipped to create their own educational outreach event in their offices and/or communities throughout the year! TOPS (time out, protect your skin) Program: With the goal of educating parents and children about sun safety both inside the classroom and outside, the TOPS Program was created and is making a real difference to raise awareness about skin cancer and sun protection one school at a time. Through this program, WDS educates teachers, students, parents, and all school faculty on ways to improve

sun-safe behavior and also provides a shade structure for each school’s playground.
