A Augustus

• A is for Augustus, he is basically the main character. Auggie was born with a birth defect. He started going to school again and the kids aren't exactly nice. No one touches him because Julian made up a story like "the cheese touch”. His best friend is Summer and somewhat Jack.

BBeautiful

• B is for Beautiful. I know I cant really see Auggie but in my eyes I he’s beautiful, because instead of starting a feud with Jack, he didn’t. That what I like about Auggie, its what's on the inside that counts.

CCan

• C is for Can. Auggie never really says I can’t except for when he doesn’t want to go to school. Even then he doesn’t use the words “I Can’t”. Because Auggie can. And for the Cheese touch thing that no one could touch him.

DDetention

• D is for Detention. Jack got detention when Julian said something about Auggie and how they can do the science project together instead, Jack got mad for what he has said and punched Julian. Therefore Jack got detention.

EEgyptian Museum

• Jack and Auggie did a project on a Egyptian Museum, while everyone else did Volcanoes. They were original.

FFreak

• Auggie by any means is not a freak, but that’s not what everyone else thinks especially Julian.

GGrams

• Grams was Auggie’s and Via’s grandmother. She was very special to Via. Via felt very close the last time she went out to see her. Grams died.

HHalloween

• Auggie dresses up as bleeding scream instead of Boba Fett and over heard Jack talking bad about him. Auggie cried and went home.

IIsabel

• Isabel is Auggie and Via’s mom. She favors him more than Via. Her mom died and she cried a lot. She also made a deal with Auggie about school.

JJack

• J is for Jack. Jack is Auggie’s friend at some points in the book at least. To me he’s a little two-faced. But he does stick with Auggie in the book.

KKind

• Kind, Auggie is kind even when no one else is, even to him. That’s what I like about Auggie.

LLiar

• Jack is basically a liar! He lied to Auggie's face countless times. Mr.Tushman made Jack become friends with him. Then he actually started liking him not just for Mr.Tushman.

MMiranda

• M is for Miranda. Her parents got a divorce before ninth grade. And before High School her and Via weren't exactly “BEST” friends. I think she was kind of jealous of Via.

NNate

• Nate is Via and Auggie’s dad. The thing is he doesn’t have a favorite. He loves Via and Auggie the same amount. He was also a part of that deal with Auggie.

OOlivia

• She may be Via, but Olivia is more than Auggie's sister. She's Justin's girlfriend. Or O for Ordinary. Auggie is a wonder and Ordinary.

PPrecepts

• P is for Precepts. Mr. Browne made the class write Precepts. Each person wrote something meaningful and important to them. My precept- “I now realized dying is easy living is hard”- if I stay.

QQuiet

• At first and throughout the book Auggie is quiet and shy in school. Always putting his hair in his face, the last to speak.

RRage

• Jack felt rage when Julian talked about Auggie badly. Then he punched him and got “suspended”. That’s rage.

SSubway

• Via takes the subway by herself. That’s showing her independence. That she is in High School and she is growing up.

TTown

• Everyone in Auggie’s Town knows him , they are no longer surprised by him. They love him, he is loved. It’s a nice town.

UUnderstand

• Auggie understands more than what most of us do. He understands his condition, school and “the cheese touch”. He understands Jack and Julian.

VVia

• V is for Via. In Via’s house all the attention is on Auggie. So if she needs help in school or help in anything she has to figure it out herself. Via is a strong and courageous girl. Her friends Miranda and others basically left her right when they all got in High School.

WWonder

• Auggie is a wonder. Isabel “Auggie’s mom” tells Auggie that he is a wonder after everybody takes his picture at the end of the book.

XXimena Chin

• Ximena Chin is a boy in Auggie’s English class. He’s on Julian’s side. His Precept: “To thine own self be true”-Hamlet Shakespeare.

YYoung

• Auggie is in fifth grade so he is young but he has a big mind. For example he’s smarter than Jack at science.

ZZealous

• Zealous means energetic. Julian is zealous towards Auggie and Jack to make everyone hate them and not go by them/be friends.
