We ask whether we live with a stop-light mentality, or whether we believe God works in compas- sionate ways, and try to find our own place in God’s pur- poses. Can we trust him more? Can we learn to be more compassionate? Prayer awareness : Bible Society Please pray Ask that the followers of Jesus everywhere will grow in knowledge and love of God and will shine as lights to all around (Matthew 5.16). For guidance so that, in fast-moving times, Bible Society can respond to new challenges and opportu- nities in whatever way Christ is calling us to. For the protection of Bible Society staff around the world. Many work in difficult and even oppressive situations. Pray for their encouragement. Pray for unity and efficiency in all of our mission and activities so that we can serve all our customers, supporters, partners, and audiences as effectively as we can. Ask that God will meet all our needs to fulfil this great task (‘… with all his abundant wealth through Jesus Christ, my God will supply all your needs.’ Philippians 4.19, GNB) Thanks for the Scriptures that you give us, the wisdom leading to salvation through Jesus Christ, and that teach, train and correct us. We pray for all involved in the translation, distribution and production of the Bible worldwide, and for all who help people understand and live by it. Lord, so shape your people by your word that we will bring life and hope to all around us through Jesus, your living Word. We ask this for your glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen Closing affirmation What a wonder you are: Creator of wonders. When we want to adore you; but our hearts let us down, you tell us to think. When we seek understanding; but our minds cannot grasp you, you help us to feel. When we crave an experience; but our senses are dry, you give us our will. And you say, ‘Be determined and stick to my path, then the wonder I made you to be will astound you. For like a dovetail, you are designed to fit into me.’ What a wonder you are: Creator of wonders. Congratulations Congratulations to Terry and Elaine who celebrated their 55 th wedding anniversary on Friday. We hope they had a wonderful day together and we give thanks for loving relationships. Clevedon Foodbank Thank you for all your generous donations to Clevedon Foodbank. There are now 2 roadside collection bins in Butts Batch and Roper’s Lane and the usual drop off points at Wendy’s and Buglers. If you would like to support both the foodbank and local business, you can always phone Buglers (Tel 862351) and pay by card and they will put some items in the box for you. Thanks again. Jude
