Alstom’s industry leading pulverizer technology is now combined with Magotteaux’s Xwin cast product technology for rolls and segments. The Xwin Metal Matrix Composites combine the extreme wear resistance of ceramics with the mechanical properties of cast alloys. Actual performance data at full scale installations have shown that the wear life of Xwin grinding rolls is more than life of Xwin grinding rolls is more than two times (2x) that of standard chrome carbide weld overlay rolls.
