Today we will be revising positional language.

You will need:

A piece of paper A pencil coloring pens or pencils

Activity – Follow the instructions to draw a picture.

Step 1: Draw a big tree in the middle of your page.

Step 2: Draw some grass under the tree.

Step 3: Draw a bird on the tree.

Step 4: Draw a bird next to the first bird.

Step 5: Draw a dog in front of the tree.

Step 6: Draw a plane in the sky, far away from the tree.

Step 7: Draw a cat hiding behind the tree trunk.

Step 8: Draw six apples on the floor.

Challenge: Can you give some instructions to an adult or your siblings to add to your picture?

Remember to use the key words to guide them!

Finally, colour in your picture!

2. Roll the die twice and record the numbers in the middle column, for example, if you roll 2

on the first go, write this down as the tens number and if you roll 8 on the second go, write

this as the ones number, for example, 28.

3. In the left column, write the number that is one less.

4. In the right column write the number that is one more.

On Monday, we practiced positional language. Can you remember some position

language words?

Did you remember correctly?

Today, we will also be using the words left and right.Can you remember which one is your left hand? What about your right hand?

Activity – Positional language treasure hunt game

Today’s game has different levels. Challenge yourself to reach level three.

Level 1: Ask your parents to write some instructions for you to get from one room in the house to

another, for example, from the kitchen to the bathroom. Can you follow their instructions?

Level 2: Write a set of instructions for someone in your house to get from your bedroom to the kitchen.

Did you remember all of the steps?

Level 3: Hide a toy somewhere in the house (or in the garden!). Write a set of instructions for someone

to follow to find the toy. Were your instructions clear?
