She was unaware that Jesus, the Master Evangelist, was able to create an inward well of living water that would satisfy her thirst all the days of her life. Today the Holy Spirit is our leader. Once we grasp this truth, we will begin to feel our deep dependence on the Spirit of Good. If we would only open our hearts (mind) and allow the power of the Holy Spirit to enter, what a glorious reality we would ex- perience. Second Week: "Music in Evan- gelism." Psalm 150 Music is a form of worship. That's why believers should be able to distin- guish what music that God is pleased with. We often say gospel music (not so), Gospel means "good news". Only the word of God is good news. Church music (or spiritual music) in songs differ from worldly music. Our music should magnify our Lord. What happened to the old 100s? The book of Psalm carries 150 spiritual songs used by the church in all ages in worship. It is called theOld Testament hymn book. Psalm 8, King David was ^ieWs On ^Dental Healtti WHAT CAUSES GUM DISEASE? JOHN B. MYRES, D.D.S. ® 234-3525 Located on 90-A at Laugh tin Road The major cause of periodontal dis- ease (an advanced form of gum inflam- mation) is dental plaque. Plaque is a collection of bacteria that grows on food particles, tissue cells, and saliva that clings to the surface of the teeth. When plaque is allowed to build up, the gums become infected and inflamed. Slowly, the irritated gums pull away from the tooth and form pockets. These periodontal pockets trap more plaque, causing more tissue to become dis- eased. If this process continues, even the bone around the tooth root deterio- rates, which results in loosening and premature loss of teeth or widespread infection. If plaque isn't removed regularly, it can harden to form tartar, the calcified plaque that dentists call "calculus". Tartar is a barnacle-like, yellowish deposit that can only be scaled from teeth and from under gums by profes- sional cleaning. Tartar itself can speed up the progress of periodontal disease which is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. Presented as a public service to promote better dental health. His songs today still give us strength in times of our weakness. Third Week: 'The Pastor and Evangelism." Acts 20:28 God declared in Jer. 3:15 "I will (that is a divine promise) give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." Matt. 20:16 says, "Many be called, but few chosen." God selects special servants and endows them with a special gift of ministry. Acts 20:28 is the History Book of the New Testament. The record is saying "take heed therefore unto your- selves, (self-examination) and to all the flock over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers." To feed (not with gossip, 'Gospel') the church of God which He has pur- chased (Jesus paid for the church on Calvary) with His own blood... pre- cious blood. Fourth Week: "Every Chris- tian, an Evangelist." John 4:36 All Christians (body of Christ) are expected to witness in words, deeds and a Christian lifestyle. In II Chr. 7:14, God said, "If my people, which are called by My name, would do four things, I will do three. If they "humble themselves," "pray," "seek," and "turn from their wicked ways," then will I "hear," forgive," and "heal," their land. The land is sick. Sometimes the ungodly things the sinners see Chris- tians do and say has more effect than our witnessing. If this nation wants God's bless- ings, then we, our sons and daughters must get down on our knees and ask for forgiveness. We are living in a sin-loving, pleasure-seeking, race-hating genera- tion. Gal. 6:7 says, "Be not deceived. God is not mocked for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Pastor Rev. J.H. James; General Teacher: Sis. Inola Johnson Lefkowitz wins national award The United States Achievement Academy (USAA) announced that Josh Lefkowitz of Houston has been named a U.S. National Award winner in foreign language. Josh is the son of Act Lefkowitz and Julie Hubbard of Houston. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lefkowitz of Houston and Jim and Jane Clipson of Eagle Lake. This award is a prestigious honor very few students can ever hope to win. In fact, the Academy recognizes fewer than 10% of all American high school students. Josh, who attends Lake Olympia Middle School, was nominated for this national award by Mrs. Bayona, a teacher at the school. He will appear in the USAA Offi- cial Yearbook, which is published nationally. "Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in America's history. Cer- tainly, USAA winners should be con- gratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achieve- ment," said Dr. George Stevens, Ex- ecutive Director of the USAA. The Academy selects USAA win- ners upon the exclusive recommenda- tion of teachers, coaches, counselors and other qualified sponsors and upon the Standards of Selection set forth the Academy. The criteria for selection are the student's academic perform- ance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to leam and improve, citi- zenship, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability, and recommen- dation from a teacher or director. Did You Know... When a piece of music is meant to be played estinto, it should be played so softly that it can hardly be heard.

Today the Holy Spirit is our leader. Once we grasp this truth, we will begin to feel our deep dependence on the Spirit of Good. If we would only open our hearts (mind) and allow the power of the Holy Spirit to enter, what a glorious reality we would ex- perience.

Second Week: "Music in Evan- gelism." Psalm 150

Music is a form of worship.

Psalm 8, King David was

WHAT CAUSES GUM DISEASE?

JOHN B. MYRES, D.D.S. ® 234-3525

Located on 90-A at Laugh tin Road

The major cause of periodontal dis- ease (an advanced form of gum inflam- mation) is dental plaque. If this process continues, even the bone around the tooth root deterio- rates, which results in loosening and premature loss of teeth or widespread

infection. If plaque isn't removed regularly, it

can harden to form tartar, the calcified plaque that dentists call "calculus". Tartar is a barnacle-like, yellowish deposit that can only be scaled from teeth and from under gums by profes- sional cleaning. Tartar itself can speed up the progress of periodontal disease which is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults.

the chief musician. His songs today still give us strength in times of our weakness.

Third Week: 'The Pastor and Evangelism." Acts 20:28

God declared in Jer. 3:15 "I will (that is a divine promise) give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." Matt. 20:16 says, "Many be called, but few chosen."

God selects special servants and endows them with a special gift of ministry.

Fourth Week: "Every Chris- tian, an Evangelist." John 4:36

All Christians (body of Christ) are expected to witness in words, deeds and a Christian lifestyle.

God is not mocked for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

Lefkowitz wins national award

The United States Achievement Academy (USAA) announced that Josh Lefkowitz of Houston has been named a U.S.
