(Jim) McNeely _ December 16,1940 - January 13,2000 Ralph Odell RUtledge September 8,1935 - January 11,2000 James C. "Jim" McNeely departed this life January 13,2000. He was bom December 16, 1940 to William E. and Chloie McNeely in Texarkana. He later moved to Austin in Au- gust 1953 and to Eagle Lake in 1997. Jim graduated from Travis High School in Austin, worked as a printer, enjoyed working on cars and tinkering with all electronics. He also took pride in cooking for large groups. Jim will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Ronald, and wife, Charlene; two grandchil- dren, Delilah and Nicholas; brothers, Jerry and wife, Mary Jo, of Austin and Jack and wife, Ella, of Mason City, Visit the Perfect "*</ Iowa; sister, Judy McCown and hus- band, Joe, of Spicewood, Texas; nieces, nephews, extended family, and mother of his son and friend, JoAnn Wilder, and her son, Leonard. Ralph Odell Rutledge, 64, of Eagle Lake passed away at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday, January 11,2000 at UTMB John Sealy Hospital in Galveston. He was born September 8,1935 to Henry Charlie and Elenora Thumann Rutledge in Weimar. A lifetime resident of this area, Ralph graduated from Crescent High School, was baptized and raised in the Bonus Baptist Church and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in Europe before his discharge in 1964. Ralph married Nora Fay Bauer in Eagle Lake on December 12,1964. He led a distinguished career in agriculture, farming and ranching in Wharton and Colorado Counties. A hard working man, devoted to family and agriculture, he will be long remembered and missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Dec. 17,1995. Survivors include his wife, Fay Bauer Rutledge of Eagle Lake; mother, Elenora Rutledge of Bonus; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Mary Rutledge of Eagle Lake; sisters Street of Shops fa Bernice R. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Houston and a member of Woodman of the World since 1936. Grain handlers conference scheduled The 2000 Texas Gulf Coast Grain Handlers Conference will be held Jan. 28 at the Wharton County Youth Fair- grounds in the Crescent Community. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the conference beginning at 8:30.
